If they want to improve, they should practice more. Bands like Missing Filemon and Smooth Friction worked their asses off before nakatilaw sila ug radio airplay. SMASH is taking away the challenge of having your song hit the airwaves. Dapat maningkamot sad ang mga banda oi...

    what radio airplay??

though you have a point in the "improvement" part, you're still condescending and generalizing that all bands that are NOT named missing filemon and/or smooth friction do not deserve radio airplay no matter how good they are.

Smash is not taking away the challenge in radio airplays but it is instead giving a chance for unheard bands to be judge and be deemed worthy of more airplays or making it on the scene. simpol ra man na ang formula sa airplays bah...kung daghan ang ganahan, daghan sad ang mo-request so = more radio airplays. so if from the start dili deserving inyong mga kanta ug airplays then no one would bother requesting it.

if you want to hear more established bands on the scene, well, there are plenty of radio stations for that. just don't expect your favorite station to be like Smash.

I mentioned filemon and friction because they were the ones that came to mind first, but if u want me to name more, just say so.

What i was trying to say is that bands should come up with songs that are at par with their tracks in terms of musicality and technicality. NOT THE SAME, BUT AT PAR. You dont have to be established or anything like that but the least you can do is back up your sh8t well. Thats when quality comes in.

I agree with your point that Smash gives opportunities to everyone but the station itself should be more selective with what they play. Radio might not seem a big deal to you, but it is. Back then, having your song play on the air was a big thing (still is i guess). That in itself meant that you possessed a degree of "worthiness". Bands these days are fortunate to have "shortcuts" to success so its just right that they come up with better material.

Bisrock is one of the best things that's happened to Cebu. Smash, arguably the "pioneer" of playing bisrock has a huge responsibility of keeping it alive.
