    Just a thought.....

He he.....Its hard to give a brief background of Ninjutsu, but i can try telling you what we are doing...
I try to take the best things from Bujinkan (Ninjutsu) and mix it with FMA so we get more modern weapons and "aliveness" from FMA, but still keep things like Metsubishi (blinding powder), meditation, working with the senses and the elements (earth, water, fire, wind and ku) from Bujinkan (Ninjutsu). These Elements creates a good basis for both our body movements, but can also work as a NLP system.....
Our training include grappling, Kyusho, weapons, strikes, kicks and it has both standing and ground fighting and so on.....its very complete....
Ninjutsu is aimed for the street and "street survival", but it can also be adjusted and used within Sports and tournaments, it has been before with some very good results (and of course FMA also can be used in tournaments).

But one of the main difference in my eyes on Ninjutsu and Judo, is that a girl can do this art it does not take much force, we dont throw like you do in Judo throws, we use locks and correct body movement to do it (if you see it, you know what i mean). I think that is one of the things the judo guys that come to me, notice about the system besides that its a very well thought out system and very effective....

PS. But try asking cardwell164, what he thinks about it, he is a Judo guy and one of my student...

i cannot say that ninjutsu is better than judo and i cannot also say that judo is better than ninjutsu, both arts are good and some of their techniques have similarities, i guess because they both got their roots in japan. the main reason we tried ninjutsu is because we were very curious of what that is, and yes it is fun and very useful in the streets. but judo also has its self defense techniques that you cannot see in competition judo like the ancient goshin jutsu in kodokan judo thats focused mainly in self defense techniques, its more like your ninjutsu, it has kick, punches, gauging ppl's eyes out and those what sport people call dirty tricks in fighting. goshin jutsu judo also has that and you guys can search that on youtube if you want to.

also, this is a judo thread so lets just discuss things only about judo if possible. just imagine it like a dojo only for judo. peace! ^_^

    @manhatan:

we also love your style and we see the importance and the usefulness of it on the streets and its fun!, so see you this saturday then? ^_^

I did not in any way say that Judo could not be used, it just depends on what "you want", what style is best for you....

Besides the only reason i did replay to wahoho, was he was also asking about Ninjutsu and the topic was judo/Ju-Jitsu (i know it did not say Ninjutsu), but we do have some Ju-Jutsu Ryus within Bujinkan (Ninjutsu), so i did think it would be most polite to answer...

I think these Ju-Jutsu Ryus is where you see a few similarities, but again you must remember you only seen a very little of this style and saying Judo and Ninjutsu is alike would not be true in any (even if you have dirty fighting)....
Ninjutsu has a lot of other stuff you have not even seen yet, they where always trying to be one step ahead of all other martial arts in Japan and China....Else they would have been dead and not been able to pass on all of their 9 Ryus some of which is as old as 800 years...You must understand a lot of things in Ninjutsu is also in the details, its hidden and most people even with past "martial arts knowledge" can not see it before after some time (and training), this is also when they start get really good at what they are doing...

Its also true that both is Japanese but Bujinkan (Ninjutsu) was keept hidden for many years, stealing other schools secrets teachings, while no one could see their secrets before in more modern times, when guys like Stephen Hayes went to Japan and did study under Grandmaster Dr. Hatsumi (Bujinkan).

    Yeah, see you tomorrow...

the ninjutsu training is nice and good
but the problem is the place, i think its not sanitary for me
my small wound got infected, and it worsen so much that i have to stop training any martial arts for a while
when i saw the dojo of hayes, i think its clean and has a very good tatami mats,
i just hope the training place of ninjutsu here in cebu is much cleaner and sanitized more

True its outside and that has its downsides, like also if it rains we would not be able to train...
This is also why i dont charge any fee, since its outside, its something else if we had a gym. to pay for...
But we have to start some where, i guess most things start small....

PS. I am sorry to hear about your wound, i hope it gets better soon...
