Both organizer and PLDT employees who were involved. Organizers may have told PLDT the whole situation that they would need a write the NBA for permission to have NBA players play with the NT. When the deal fell through, PLDT probably said "well, the show must go on". Then the organizers just want to get paid and did their job on advertising even though there'd be no games.

It's interesting though , was talking to someone about this over coffee this morning and this individual said " do they really think basketball fans here in the Philippines are that dumb " , no one would pay hundreds or thousands of pesos to watch a practice game.

This was an epic fail from organizers. Saw the Vid were organizer President said "we never said or advertised there would be game" Well then place in your ads , Last Home Stand - Practice games only between Gilas and NBA stars , lets see if ppl buy ticks. If this were the case why even do it. They could have just invited the NBA to help with Charity work here without any games.

Fact: Everyone thought there would be a game , and I'm sure organizers knew that way before the gates opened.

A high-ranking league official told Yahoo Sports "our biggest concerns aren't sponsorships and payouts, but the playing conditions around the games – quality of the floor, equipment around the court, presence of doctors and facilities for treatment, etc."

maybe if ang venue kay didto sa brand new arena sa inc, musugot siguro ang nba if concerned gyud sila sa quality sa venue.

That reason was a little lame by the NBA , but bottom line organizers didn't do due diligence in working with NBA for approval. Simple as that ..

sus kahibaw naman d i na sila walay games na mahitabo tabla rag ge blind nila ang mga fans, unsay tuo nila abi lag for charity na nga events lusot na sila.. mu ok nalang ang mga fans! nagtuo jud cguro sila in ana ka bugo ang mga fans.. dapat katung una palang they toned down the hype specially katung pag plugging sa tv5, mas maayo kung nahimong transparent sila na wala juy games and the event was downgraded to a clinic, but instead the promotion intensified up, 1 month kapin baya sila cgeg advertise ana,,a lot of us assumed jud that there will be a GAME na mahitabo the way sila mu market, sa mga tubag nila sa interview ug ang price sa ticket makaana jud ka na grabe ka competitive exhibition games imo makit-an.. practice ra d i!! mura manig scam nuon...

^^ this is an insult to Philippine Sports Committee tsk2.. just because the Philippines is a third world country doesn't mean we cannot afford to build a first class sports facilities and venues. tsk2...
