I don't think we're catching up. Cebu is different from Manila. VERY different. Manila is super big, we're lucky here in Cebu coz it takes us approx 30 mins to go from one location to another if were within the city. Unlike Manila, they have to travel long distance to get to some places. To say that the traffic there is heavy is an understatement. And don't even get me started with their cab drivers. And the people, were so different from them... most of us cebuanos would badmouth people from manila, and vice versa but one thing I have observed is that those people in Manila are very driven, in terms of work, they really take it seriously. I'm not saying that Cebuanos don't take their jobs seriously, what I'm saying is that in Manila they really really work hard. They're super competetive too, that it becomes scary sometimes. Here in Cebu, we have this easy-going mentality. Like we go to work and still have fun. We are "chill" as many people would call it and I think this is a good thing, but not too chill though. So yeah, IMO I don't think we need some catching up because Cebu is progressing in it's own way.

Change is inevitable. It's nature for us human to change. As the years. passed by, the lifestyle of people changes( the way they dressed etc.) Years from now, these form of styles would passed by eventually becomes obsolete.

Yeah, Cebu is catching up to Manila in terms in economy, business, traffic. If you look around the city you can see T-cranes everywhere.

You should have provided more details on the comparison.

I think Cebu will always be different than Manila. Always better, in my opinion. Manila is far too big it is already difficult to make the necessary changes without encountering heavy resistance. Cebu is relatively smaller and continually learns from the mistakes of Manila to its advantage. Manila too, being the center for national politics gets itself so into so many complications unlike Cebu where these happen only during national election time. Anyway, I love Cebu!
