Actually, it's not that insurance companies are covered by the Insurance Commission (IC). There might be a misconception on this. IC is not like PDIC wherein your deposits are covered up to P500,000 just in case your bank encounters issues. IC is a governing body. It has strict policies and standards that they should adhere and meet. In the Philippines, no insurance company has gone down.

A development now is that pre-need companies are now governed by IC. The pre-need law was passed in December 2009 and the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) were signed in March 2010. Visit the website of the Insurance Commission at insurance.gov.ph, and you will see the pre-need code and the IRR already published on the site.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, AXA partnered with MetroBank. What do you mean of having a mediator Sir? When going directly to insurance companies, there will be an agent that will assist you.

it would be nicer if they had all the plans and packages online. The bank agents dont seem to offer everything and tend to just give you the package they want to be bought. I went to the bank once to inquire but i didnt get satisfactory answer to my query. taht's why i guess mediators are better.

You mean the bancassurance employees or just the bank employees? Of course, if you're not satisfied then choose another insurance company or go directly to that same company for an advisor to assist you personally. Besides, you will know if the advisor is pushing the product or really helps you.

There are insurance companies that have online tools to address people's financial needs/priorities which gives convenience if you can't meet an advisor as of the moment. It will help you as well to initially assess your current financial status.

Dealing/having an advisor is another thing. If you want instant answers to your queries then having an appointment with us, as advisors, is a better way. Calling the advisor adds more convenience as well. There are stories/personal stuffs which you can share with confidence upon meeting with us.
