thanks bro... sakit kaayo ang price sa silverstone bro... naa man daghan mapili-an na brand sa New Egg CN & 360buy na online store. antec akoang napili-an and to be exact, this is the one that i'm planning to purchase... aborted na ang antec na 900W kay overkill ra man lagi to kaayo... mahal pa gyud...
Antec
Antec has good PSUs comparable to Silverstone, sometimes even better..
Even this entry-level 500w Antec can handle torture from that 5870. Overload tests show it can supply up to 640w before protection kicks in. Costs around $54 sa Newegg.

ok, had narrowed down my choices today... since ganihang buntag, wla man hinoon ko nahimo dri sa office... harharhar... ang pag research and decision making ra gyud aning gpu... tsk tsk tsk... hhhaaayyyy... so, here are the choices with their actual prices.
> XFX ATI HD 6970 (2GB DDR5)... 1,799 rmb... roughly 11.7k php
> XFX ATI HD 6950 (2GB DDR5)... 1,399 rmb... roughly 9.1k php
> XFX ATI HD 5870 (1GB DDR5)... 1,148 rmb... roughly 7.5k php... original choice
> XFX ATI HD 4870X2 (2GB DDR5)... 700 rmb... roughly 4.6k php
and to narrow down pa gyud the choices... kani na lang duha...
> XFX ATI HD 5870 (1GB DDR5)... 1,148 rmb... roughly 7.5k php
> XFX ATI HD 4870X2 (2GB DDR5)... 700 rmb... roughly 4.6k php
then looking on this review (link below), mas taas man ug gamay ang HD 4870X2 compared sa HD 5870... then sa actual price kay mas barato... mas maka save ko. basically, my choice now is the HD 4870X2... babalik ka rin ko nya dah... hehehe... mga kapatids, para sa inyoha, sakto ba ko sa akoang decision... application will be BF3, UT3 (kara-an naman ni na game) ug other old and new games... this card, the HD 4870X2 is a directx 10 compatible gpu dba, dili sya directx 11. hinoon, i'm not a game addict. this hobby is just another alternative for me other than biking/cycling and playing musical instruments... pawala sa homesickness... again, i need your inputs on the pros and cons of this card with respect to my set-up... i3-2120, 8GB mem and Windows 7... hdd will be a 500 GB WD (green)... monitor will be a 20 inch AOC razor (from my current set-up (ibton lang from the relic rig kun mag game) ... resolution will be limited by the monitor though... max is only 1600 x 900...

boss, palitunon pa nmo na ang 48xx series? if so bro tinuod na maka minus ka sa initial cost, but ang newer cores(like sa 69xx series) has better gaming features(optimized?), efficiency and power consumption so its a factor din to consider getting those newer cards if mu palit man lang ka.
IMHO lang ni
mao lagi bro... initial cost kay barato pero in the long run, alkanse ta... mo dako ang gasto kay mag upgrade naman pud ta... tsk tsk tsk... palitonon pa gyud ni ang gpu for the gaming rig... bali, naabot naman dri ang relic gpu para sa pc sa akoang anak, kani lang sa akoang gamiton samtang wala pa ko maka decide kun unsa ang new card. ma pareho nya napud ko aning MoDT (Pentium M 770) set up nko... agp 8x pa man hinoon ang VC ani... relic man lagi... hehehe... palit dayon ko sa HD3650 pero, bitin man sa games. naa unta HD3850 na mas kusog, wla nako gi tan-aw pag decision analysis... considerable gyud hinoon ang price difference nila... 3x ang price ato compared sa HD3650...
basta, tanan akoang gi consider... saunang panahon, enthusiast man lagi ko aning PC, nag baligya man pud ko ug PC components before when i was in college... dako kaayo ko gasto sa upgrade pero, unay man ko sa supplier, dili ra mahal kunohay if i-compare sa price sa shops (wla pa ang mga malls ato na time... wala pa'y SM, Ayala ug Country Mall... sugod pa sila ug build sa buildings nila...)... taod2x na gyud ko na undang then karon kay balik napud pero, i'll make sure na para sa gaming PC lang ning itch... dili na mag sige lang ko ug upgrade like the old days... hehehe...
you're point is very well taken bro... thanks...
Get the 6950 bro... then flashed it to 6970... 6950 is the same card as 6970 only with locked shaders... Flashed it to unlock its shaders and para same na sila ug shader count as the 6970...
6950 flashed to 6970 = stock 6970 (mas cheaper pa)

good luck bro... if I knew 9.1k ra diay ang 6950 dha sa china, nag pa buy nalng diay unta ko sa akong brother... tag 12K kapin man gud dri cebu then the money i had at the moment kay 10K ra so I bought 6870 nalng... which is still a smooth card... kato man unta akong 6950 jud then e flash lang... anyway, good luck bro...
thanks bro... your comment is very well noted. i was also searching today... whole date for the bang for the money video card. based on my analysis, the HD6950 (2GB) is really the way to go for my set up...
lain ato, ask ko ninyo dha sa atoa if tag pila ang WD 1TB (green... w/ 32MB cache) na HDD. did2 man ko gabi-i sa akoang amigo na lbs kay nag canvass ko ug mga HDD. iyaha did2, priced at 780 rmb (roughly 5,070 php) for the bnew unit. sa on line shops dri like sa New Egg CN ug 360buy, kay tag 869 rmb (roughly 5,678 php)...

whats the gaming rig for?
