i think watercolor, lisod man jud watercolor, been tryin to do it for a couple of years. i shifted to chalk pastel. pero banga japun. hehehe. but when i saw mr. fred galan one time and talked about techniques about watercolor, it sounded easy. i have tried nude drawing before and used chalk pastel. ok lang. gkapoy ang model kay hinay kaayo ko mtrabaho. hahaha. on oils, the more layer you put, the better the painting becomes. dali lang makaguba ug brush. mahal ra ba kaayo ang brush before. practice lang nya ko body painting. maybe vangogh can teach us watercolor?

ok ra watercolor. you just need to have a spare paper kay lisod ibawe once naa na ang color. :P washes ang term namo for rendering perspective.

@SUEDE: Please keep trying If possible, let's meet him or them when you come back. Just let them know we'll primarily use graphite pencils. Let's stick to basic figure drawing first and let's remember that we are would-be sequential artists first, fine artists second

Lastly, I heard that Mr. Yap is a bit temperamental especially with male students. Of course, that's hearsay from my viewpoint. If he is, then I hope we don't take it personally. We are after all would be learning from him (if we can afford to - graduated in New York).

hehehe! damn! i used to mix watercolor on paper, murag wet on wet ba. that was my favorite. i can do a passable house or object on watercolor but maguba if ill try to do the human figure. skin tone is so damn hard to get with watercolor. chalk pastel is managable but mkahubak. labi na ang fixative, hapit ko palayasa sa akong mama sa una kay hubakon siya tungod nako. hehehe.

i will meet up with my friend today. ill also check if any of them have some ideas about sequential art kay mura ive heard before that one of them studied under joe kubert daw. not sure ha pero mura. a long, long time ago, i was focusing on art like i am doing now so medjo naa koy kaila nga makatabang kana if macontact pa to nako sila. but dont worry, ato ni paninguhaon so that we can have a very strong foundation on our craft. when im in manila, ill look for the book. bsan magtiniil ko pangita matagaan lang ko ug taas-taas na oras.

As for the book, if you are really in a hurry, just go straight to the customer service booth and ask them to lead you to
books (main and alternatives). FullyBooked staff are well-versed. If they are all out, then istorya na lang ta pagbalik nimo.

Anyway, tell your friend we will pay for figure drawing lessons - from life and then later from imagination. If you have a
printer, you can print the quick gesture drawings I posted and show him that it is one of the things we\'d like to learn.

bitaw, watercolor paper kanang baligya sa bukstores. and afaik, that technique is called washing (plaster water paper to board and pre-wash paper upon use) sakto ba zerk?
