    IMO lang ha...

(I don't mean this to be O.T. kay this is still very much related to the topic.)

I don't mean to offend anyone sad... But don't you think naay factor ang CATHOLICISM sa kahimtang nato karon? I mean tanaw-a ang mga Catholic predominant countries majority mga 3rd world and taas kaayo ang corruption & crime rate.

If you don't agree, then you're welcome to flame me.

yup we deserve the government we have... gahan ta ug sopa opera tan-awa mura gyud episode sa Tayong DAlawa gyud gawas ani.. o dili kaha THe buzz.. joke...

bitaw... our collective consciousness as a nation reflect the type of government and its administration we have because we choose this people to lead our government...

if we were a nation of rational people then there would rational people on the seat of power.. if we are a nation of soap-opera, showbiz, scandal-loving nation our government will be similar to a box office hit movie or an episode of Cheaters or The Kardashians...

this is very much related to the big problem in the philippines right now... its a sad fact that most people are superstitious (being religious is different)...

the teachings of the catholic church actually encourages poverty.. they call it being meek and humble.. they do not want you to be ambitious and covet worldy things... the church frowns upon members of society who are ambitious..

the church also encourages elitism.. they support rich families that they can use as "caretakers" of their earthly possessions... some clergymen even have children inside these families... kapansin mo ngano ang mga pari(or pastors/ministers) mas kusog mo entertain sa mga kwartahan kay sa mga ultimo?...

catholicsm by itself is not bad enough.. but mixed with spanish influence, it has become a recipe for disaster.. the catholic friars before actualy encouraged being "meek and humble" as not to challenge tha authority of the church and that of the spanish government.. it may interest to know that dead rebels were not given catholic burial that time..

it is in the best interest of the church that people remain uneducated and poor.. if they learn, they may challenge the teachings of the church.. if they live comfortable, they may forget the so-called "saviour" figure.. and the church will lose its influence among the people...

the whole concept of religion medling in politics is... FOLLOW OUR INSTRUCTIONS OR GO TO HELL!.. GIVE US POLITICAL POWER COZ IF U DONT, YOU ARE A HEATHEN!..... basically.. kinsa man di mahadlok inngon oi nga maadto ka sa imperno...

    2. Walay mangdaug-daug kung walay magpadaug-daug!

    3. Tan-awa unsa kahugaw ang Cebu ug Mandaue. Gakalat ang mga basura BISAG ASA! Perte gyung HUGAWA sa Cebu. Naka-adto na ko Malaysia ug Hong Kong. Perte gyung limpyuha. Wala kay makita nga maskin usa ka wrapper sa candy sa kalsada. Disiplinado kaayo ang mga tao. Mas labaw pa gyud ang Singapore.

Ang Pilipinas purya-gaba! Walay bala-ud against loitering kay tanan man tao ma-priso!

    4. Kasagaran sa mga Pilipino pasagad lang ug panganak. Maskin wala nay halos gikaun magsige gihapong panganak.

    5. Mahilig kaayo ta musaway ug koruption, pero kung naa gali i-process nga papers sa government offices, mangita dayon ta ug kinsay pwede mabayran or mangita ug kaila/amigo/paryente para madali.

    10. Hadlok kaayo ta musumbong kung naa tay mabantayan nga anomaliya ug koruption. Ato na lang pasagdahan kay: "INGANA MAN GYUD NA."

Hahaay... Who's to blame that we have a government like this? We Filipinos deserve this government. We can't escape from it. Noynoy, if he stands true to his promise, might make a dent - even just a little. But our traits and culture are deeply embedded in our system and genes that we can't escape our own nature.

What "cancer" was Rizal talking about? Who, if it was a person, was he referring to? Did he refer to the Spaniards? Or to our culture?
two thumbs up jud ko ani... samot na number 4!.. sakit i tunlon nganu ingon ani ato government, pero tinuod man sad gud...

Democracy has not worked for the Philippines and it never will. I'd rather have a stricter government yet more stable and progressive country. I can sacrifice a few freedoms to have a better quality of life. Our country is going nowhere but downhill, down to hell. I'll have to give you guys a shrug because I am not seeing any hope, at least not in the near future. Dunno bout you...

Hi guys... I would like to relive this thread because I really think we should be aware of the defects of our own culture.
