I am so tired today. I think it is because I work around propane and it is making my head ache a lot now.
Gikapoyan ko kaayo karon. Mihunahuna ako kana kay mibuhat ako duol gasul ug pagsakit ang ulo ko daghan.

Gikapoy gyd ko pag ayo rn. Tungod siguro ni ky naa koi gibuhat duol sa among gasul maong ni sakit pagmaayo akong ulo.

I cleaned up my apartment for about 4 hours today.
Nilimpyo ko ang puluy-anan ko sa kuwatro ka oras karon.

Akong gilimpyohan akong balai ug balig upat ka oras karon.

Real language first before grammar, not vice-versa.

Cebauanos say, 'Gikapoy kaayu ko ron. Siguro kay duol man gud ko sa propane, maong sakit akong ulo ron.

Gikapoy ko = I'm tired
Gikaapy kaayu ko = I'm so/really tired.
Gikapoy kaayu ko ron = I'm so/really tired today.

Siguro (tungod) kay = Maybe/I think it's because
duol man gud ko sa propane = I work around propane. literally 'I am near the propane' with 'man gud' implying 'result'
maong sakit akong ulo ron = literally 'that's why my head is aching right now'

Please allow me to briefly explain why I ask all you experts to focus on grammar. You see, as a student of Cebuano, when I am writing my journal entries AND especially when I read the corrections you all post, I am ALWAYS looking for grammar patterns. This is how I am able to learn Cebuano. But if everyone simply translates their the sentence with the intention of simply conveying the meaning instead of trying to convey the grammatical patterns in the original English sentence then I am totally confused when I analyze the corrections. I will give an example:

.. nabayran ko karong adlawa ug karon bayran ako mga bayranan.
In this correction that fingolfin gave, the grammar patterns are easily identifiable and he even broke the sentence down. The sentence has obvious grammar patterns that can be repeated in future journal entries or he could refer back to these grammar patterns to avert potential redundant explanations later on down the line.

However, I am having a bit of a hard time understanding some of the other corrections that seemingly only conveyed the meaning of the English sentence into colloquial Cebuano instead of focusing on the grammar. And as we all know, colloquial language is meant for natives and NOT for beginning students. I hope you better understand where I'm coming from now.

Also, for the record I want to ask you all. In Pilipino languages, Tagalog, Ilocano, Cebuano, etc. there are always infixes (suffixes & prefixes) that work with certain verbs and some that won't work with certain verbs. For you all as natives, you have to look in a very good dictionary that tells you what suffix/prefix goes with what verb and what meaning that combination entails, right?

I am pretty sure this is the case with all Pilipino languages but I need to be 100% sure. What is the definitive authoritative dictionary in Cebuano that I need to purchase that will list this information? As far as I know the equivalent dictionary that would list this information for Tagalog is:

I need to figure out a way to not forget the grammar corrections that I have received while I continue to write my current journal entries.

Kinahanglan ko makaplag ug paahiga dili maglimot ug batadila sa panul-id nidawat ko samtang mapadayon ko magsulat ug karon dyurnal mga pagsulod ko.

Sitting in my favorite chair and sipping my espresso, i suddenly felt the rush of nausea and syncope. My heart started to go on havoc as my coffee spilled over cold floor.

Samtang ako naglingkod sa akong ginaham na lingkuranan ug naghigop sa akuang espresso, ako daw gibati ug dagsa sa kasukaon ug kalipong. Ang akong kasikasing nagsugod ug kalandrakas ug ang akong kape nayabo sa mabugnaw nga salog. ♥♥

TS, i suggest you let the natives translate your thoughts in english into cebuano, and then study the grammar pattern of the cebuano construction. the problem with the grammar-translation method (english into cebuano) is that it's not really effective. you end up with awkward sentences.

For example:
I need to figure out a way to not forget the grammar corrections that I have received while I continue to write my current journal entries.

Kinahanglan ko makaplag ug paahiga dili maglimot ug batadila sa panul-id nidawat ko samtang mapadayon ko magsulat ug karon dyurnal mga pagsulod ko.

I think you came up with the translation this way:
I need = kinahanglan ko (you know it's Verb-Subject in cebuano)
to figure out = makapplag
a way = ug paahiga
to not forget = dili maglimot
the grammar corrections = ug batadila sa panul-id
that I have received = nidawat ko
while I continue = samtang mapadayun ko
to write my current journal entries = magsulat ug karon dyurnal mga pagsulod ko

it's the grammar-translation method, isn't it? the resulting translation is rather awkward.

Your idea in cebuano is:
Kinahanglan ko makakita og paagi nga/aron dili makalimtan ang mga grammar corrections nga akong nadawat/nakat-unan samtang nagsige o nagpadayun ko pagsulat sa akong mga bag-ong journal entries.

the way i see it, the cebuano construction is:
verb 1 + subject + infinitive verb + object + infinitive of result (with a 'that' clause) + 'while' clause

need + I + to find/figure out + a way + to not forget the grammar corrections that I have received/learned + while i continue to write my current journal entries.

using the construction above, you can say:

kinahanglan ko mo-kaon og utan aron dili masakit samtang nagpadayun pa ko sa akong trabaho sa call center.

kinahanglan ko magtuon sa akong leksyon aron dili mahagbong samtang nagtungha pa ko sa kolehiyo.

kinahanglan ko magtigum og kwarta aron dili mahurot ang allowance nga ginapadala sa akong mga ginikanan samtang nagtungha pa ko kolehiyo.

(TS: i'm learning korean this way. i have the construction 'Naneun megjuruhl jowahanda' (i like beer) and from that i can say 'naneun kimchirul johahanda, naneun uyuruhl jowahana, etc.' but then the colloquial way i was told is just 'megjuruhl jowahe' )
