olympus is the God.. nyahahahah![]()
Every DSLR brand has their own unique traits and features. Nonetheless, I recommend to get a Canon camera as there's an official service center here in Cebu and throughout the Philippines. In my opinion After-Sales is a big plus and Canon seems to win all over in the Philippines!
i don't want anymore lenses made from toothpaste(assuming i am gates, lol)^^ its very reactive to the environment which will eventually deteriorate as time goes by^^
just joking.

bro, get the D90 and get more nikon lenses para migo dayon ta, then huwam dayon ko lens nimo. d90 mn pud ako. yahoo!
this is also the major reason why i shift from nikon to canon. i have a 500d and i am at ease now and i don't need to worry about the tear and wear because they had provided us canon users with a very accessible service center on most major cities in the country.
guys, no need to reciprocate about my comments, this is just my own honest opinion. if you have some brilliant reason for choosing nikon then i respect that.

My mom used to be a Nikon user way back in the 80s. She actually had a hard time repairing one of the lenses which broke. She had to send it all the way to Japan. On the other hand, I know it's a different matter nowadays. Nonetheless, I'll always purchase equipment or gadgets which have a local service center in order to ease my anxiety if something goes wrong.![]()
@ TS
you should be pairing 500d and d5000 instead. not the d90 which is an upper class of its category.
anyway, obviously, d90 wins on this. IQ wise on higher ISOs; 3.4fps(500d) vs 4.5fps(d90); 9AF points vs 11AF points; 6positions WBO vs 12positions; pentamirror vs pentaprism; 95%vf vs 96%vf; 12m flash range vs 17m flash range; 22.3x14.9mm sensor size(relation to 15mpx) vs 23.6x15.8mm sensor size(relation to 12mpx).
and yes, theyre very right, nikon's one major downside is a nearby service center which is very significant for expensive products as such.
if a readily available nearby service center is not a big deal to you and you can just send the cam over with some costs(that is if its out of warranty period already) if something happens then get the d90(or the d5000 which is cheaper but nearly same specs); but if not, then get the 500d.
anyway, both cameras(including the d5000) are the tops of its category base on review. you wont go wrong with the two.
ps: i tried the 500d in actual(dlanyer77 owns it) and im really impressed. the weight, the fast focusing(although dependent to the lens used / dlanyer77's evily superb dedicated macro lens a.k.a. grandmas pvcpipe+handheld magnifying glass), the handling, the buttons' arrangement for fast configuring, the body built, and the versatility of its overall characteristic.
I was once in this situation before, here at istorya...well, I choose Nikon D90, and i had this for sometime now and Im satisfied with its performance. If you have the budget, get the Nikon d300s instead!
