Commando 2..
Perhaps you missed the word 'either'? It's pretty clear that that statement wasn't meant for those people/cafe's that can run mid / high end games. doh..But because they can't run new games on their outdated hardware? pfft
Of course they love it, that's why they don't bother considering other strategy games. A lot of people are wary of change. If you're contented with who clicks and builds bases fastest so they can deluge the opponent with units then more power to you.
Underrated? What are you talking about? Not really that good to be popular? Hahahah, i guess Ragnarok should be hailed as one of the best RPG's ever seeing how popular it is..
So since you missed the whole point of what i was saying i'll repeat it : Starcraft doesn't own the RTS genre, it once did but not anymore. Sure you, and alot of other people may still love it and play it all the time, but does that make it better than the newer games? Nope, not by a long shot.
naa ko games pero commando 2, mani siya.. pero nindot man sad.![]()
To make a long story short, I want a new strategy game that made the same impact to the people as Starcraft did. With that said, I think no rts game has did that, not even warcraft. So since you missed the whole point of what i was saying i'll repeat it : Starcraft doesn't own the RTS genre, it once did but not anymore. Yeah, so maybe I was a bit too excited by posting "Starcraft ownz this genre". It was just my kudos for a really great game.![]()
Command and Conquer Generals
hmm for me the best is frozen throne/warcraft III, gi compare nako sa Generals/Zero hour.
though lahi rajud ang concept sa game coz ang frozen throne/warcraft needs micromanagement, Hero experience, it doesnt really matter how large ur opponents army even he conquer all the map.
while the generals/zero hour padak-anai rajud ug forces and if conquer nimo all the map.. control jud nimo ang game...![]()
being a player of both games i can say dli rana pa dakoay sa forces, generals fans say that WCIII pa daghanay ra ug units and vice versa, ang akong comment ani is. war3 has a blend of RPG element ( heroes ) into its battle system. both offer a good depth of strategy if you play heavily on both games. but id prefer wcIII over generalsOriginally Posted by flanker
and heroes in War3/TFT plays a vital role in the game (no hero=toast)....that makes it different from Generals...mas ma-compare pa tingali maayo ang Generals with Starcraft.Originally Posted by [EarlZ]

Well, i agree, there needs to be some revolutionary changes to the RTS genre, as it stands they've taken the concept as far as it can, and there really isn't anymore improvements/refinements that they can do.
I'm really loving Rome : Total War though. I got addicted to Shogun when it came out years ago, and looks like this'll do the same to me now. I love the big battles (upwards 8000 units), and i love the fact that you have to plan out your strategy and take high ground, terrain type, flanks, and morale into consideration.
There's nothing like beating a Gaul army of 1400 with 800 men, having cavalry charge them from behind, or knocking a whole portion of their heavy infantry off by a flaming rock. great fun. I haven't even seen the flaming pigs and the wardogs yet.![]()

I've noticed that no strategy game has ever made such an impact as starcraft did, am I right?
