question... my ram is a corsair 2 * 1 gig DDR2-667...uhhh. will I get NOTICABLE performance boost if I change to a crucial, or team rams? 2* 1 gig DDR2-800?
and what the hell is single channel - dual channel?

@ Der FüHRER: nice info you got there bro
i was just confused because i got core 2 duo e6400 and 2x512mb pqi pc 667 ram in my system right now. And im eyeing on buying 2x2gig stable(e.g. patriot, crucial, g-skill etc) ram from LUNCH and i wasnt sure if buying this 4 gig ram would really affect pc performance given kinda low processor...remember from college? i remember something like , correct me if im wrong, CPU BOTTLENECK--even though youll have much ram but cpu bottleneck is small, only small amount of ram would be processed depending on how big ur bottleneck is. So ma useless ang uban memory. sak2 ba? hehehe![]()
Start up you mean from POST to windows usable, or just after the loginscreen of vista?Originally Posted by lokster
if im right then i would really have to upgrade more processor which would cost a lotOriginally Posted by wolfhound

bro....i would go with as much ram/cpu power i could afford...in my case bro..my pocket is the bottleneck..hehehehe.but always remember that winxp/vista has its limits too on how much memory it could handle(if i remember it right 4GB). above that then you need an OS like....WinXP 64bit.
yeah..i think xp pro has a cap of 3gb or 3.5gb ram it can use
