    Mochiko

The logo of mochiko looks like a mochi ball with a heart on it. The heart symbolizes what would make your innards flutter. It was hard to choose, they have a wide selection of flavors.

I keep passing their used to be mochi-stall for a few months now and when I came back they already have a counter and cute pink seats with tables to boot. How long has it been?

    How cute are these?

Mochi is a rice cake made of glutinous rice which is pounded into paste and moulded into shape which is a local dessert in Japan. It actually is tikoy filled with ice cream! What could possibly go wrong with that?

Read tweets suggesting to try Black Sesame Seeds and Cookie Dough.

Black Sesame Mochi sold at Php70.

The first thing that you would probably notice is how much this reminds you of tikoy. It is tikoy! Cold tikoy filled with almost anything you can ever imagine. Being the adventurous foodie, I opted for the Black Sesame and Cookie Dough.

In all honesty, I never liked anything with sesame seeds on it. I can however shrug off those on top of burger buns. I love the surprise cold cluster at the center.

I never tried anything with cookie dough no matter how I wanted to buy that Ben and Jerry's Cookie Dough ice cream. The yellow bit tasted like a creamy, cold evaporated milk which by the way tasted really good. The cookie batter is found on the bottom of the mochi ball. It is a bit of a struggle, beating the cold and chewing the hard dough.

Cookie Dough which is Php70 a pop.

Also, the flavors I chose did deliver! I loved it! I would suggest the Black Sesame for your first try. Be adventurous. Try it sometime.

    Tip:

It is best eaten after a few minutes out of the fridge. The paper that comes with it can be used to wipe your face.

    The Verdict:

    Food 5/5
    Ambiance 5/5

It's better than ice cream! This is taken from my personal post.
