Well, you'll never know what's going on in a poor orphans mind (unless if you are one, of course). Last time I was in an orphanage for a feeding program, the little ones were okay but the 11 year-olds-and-up weren't opening up to us very well. That was in Pasil, tho.
if you celebrate birthdays with them, mura na sad sila'g naay parents. you give them a chance to experience having birthday parties, which isn't bad... compared to just letting them feel like, well, orphans.
