try the new CCleaner Download CCleaner 3.07.1457 - FileHippo.com it will delete temp file cache or go to start>run>type %temp% and delete all(do this if you're not doing anything on your pc and restart. Also you can try to use disk cleanup. These 2 process would help a lot since i do it many times already.

for your memory try this start>right click on My Computer>click properties>advanced system settings>under performance>click on settings>under settings >click Advanced tab>Virtual Memory(A paging file is an area on the hard disk that Windows uses as if it were RAM >Make sure it's on the system manage file size option and click okay button.

all the suggestions are good.. temp files can be purged.. ccleaner, makes this task easy for u.. about your slow performance, check hardware compatibility if kaya ba jud sa imo system.. but if possible, reinstall para safe and sure ka na your starting fresh.. anyways, u can reinstall programs btaw..
