there was an informal study in early 2000's in the Philippines, mas popular/familiar pa daw ang brand nga "Starex" kaysa sa Hyundai itself. hehe

The popularity of Hyundai vehicles continues to grow in the Philippines despite a notable shortage in the supply of certain models.

Hyundai Asia Resources (HARI), distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, said a total of 3,079 units have moved out of its showrooms since the beginning of the year. This represents a 13.4 percent growth from sales made in January to February 2010.

Hyundai sold 1,380 passenger cars and 1,699 light commercial vehicles in the first two months of the year. HARI said sales were led by models like Getz, Santa Fe and the Grand Starex.

In February alone, Hyundai sold 607 units of subcompact passenger cars, 396 units of passenger vans and 289 units of compact sport-utility vehicles.

"Improved performance of the Sonata and the Grand Starex offset the shortage in supply of the new Accent and Tucson models in February," HARI said in a statement.

Hyundai launched the Accent in December 2010. The new Tucson had its Philippine debut in December 2009 but its popularity continued with the introduction of diesel variants last year.

Ang problema lang jud sa hyundai cebu is layo ra kaayo ilang presyo sa manila. Except sa bagong accent karon nga gamay2x ra silag gipatong sa freight.
