TESTIMONY OF A FORMER ADDICT
I have been an addict for approximately 26 years. I craved people's attention. I searched my identity in people's approval. It really was a good thing that God did not punish me. Instead, He showed me how people can fail my expectations. I have been hurt by people around me. And when it happens, that's the only time I come running for my Lord Jesus Christ.
It took God 26 years to rehabilitate me. I had to be free from people's bondage. God was waiting for me to do His will. Not the people's will.
Now, my life is still a mess. But I love this mess. It's my only way of being close to God. Despite my ugliness, He lets me feel a glimpse of His love. I run unto Him for guidance and approval. Without Him, I am nothing.
The Lord Jesus Christ has been so great in healing my addiction. He let me have my way. Now, I am His. No one can take me away from Him. He took me right out of the dark and brought me where I can enjoy the light.
In the darkness, I cry bucket of tears every time I feel so empty. I was living a numb life. I go to work. Sleep. Wake up. Work. Feel empty. Sleep. Cry. Think. It was so tiring. Life has tricked me into thinking that it was the people whom I should serve. But it was Jesus Christ who should be glorified. Not the people.
The locked doors of my heart have been opened. Jesus Christ is the key to my misery, loneliness and emptiness. He prepares me for happiness. I am scared. I don't know how to be happy. But I am excited because I know He will teach me well.
I am no longer an addict. I can look you straight in the eye and you will see my soul. I don't exist to please people. I exist to serve the Lord. Happiness is thinking about the Lord as if He is really with me. I talk to Him. "Good morning!" "Good night!" Those are just some of the greetings I use. "Thank you, Lord!" It's my overused greetings for God. With the serenity I have found in God, I will just forever praise Him and sing, "Thank you, Lord!"
Jesus Christ is the key to happiness. No more. No less.
I am a psychologist-wannabe who likes to voice out her opinions and views on love and life. I maintain a personal blog where you can read more about my daily adventures at http://www.mitchseego.com. Your visit would be greatly appreciated.

If we observe the people around us we can easily see that people really do not know how to attain happiness. Maybe you will find yourself wondering, "Is there intelligent life on Earth?" Mangala Sutta is a simple guide to the actions we should endeavour to perform if we want to live happily. Since we all want to live happily we should all pay attention to the Buddha's answer to this important question.
The following are definitions of the pali words in the text which have been left untranslated: pali: the language that the Buddha used. mangala: a things that cause happiness.
sutta: a discourse.
Savathi: a town in India.
Jeta: a prince from whom Anathapindika, a wealthy merchant, bought a grove and built a monastery for the buddha and his disciples.
Deva: a celestial being somewhat like an angel.
Dhamma: the teaching of the Buddha.
Samana: the collective term for wandering ascetics, monks, and Holy men in India.
Happiness does not have to be postponed until we have achieved whatever it is we desire. We can be happy while we're working towards our goals, and when we adopt this approach achieving achieving becomes a bonus to, rather than the basis of, our happiness!![]()
^ right ... the word is contentment ... if you have the feeling of contentment on what your doing, then you are happy and could be in a state of perfect happiness
I CHOOSE to be HAPPY!![]()
Goodness in itself is happiness. When you do good, you feel good, you feel happy.
We are part of the common good; we are destined to be happy.
Kanang mga serial killer bah nga na interview sa TV, ingun man sila happy sila nga mupatay, ok ra nah? if happy sa imu gibuhat bisag dautan or makapasakit sa uban, OK ra nah?
Experiencing True Happiness is to Become a True Christian .... Jesus Christ Is Enough.
