yup, jesus had this subtle way of quoting and candy-coating old testament passages. that's why i stated that in king david's time "inherit the earth" literally meant conquering other nations.

hmm it wasn't as simple as that. it was the age of world conquest and imperialism. if religion wasn't invented yet they'd have used something else. in more recent times for example the americans used education and economics.

i believe there are, for lack of a better word, "deeper" reasons to reject religion
