I think what's highly unusual is the number of SEAL Team VI operators who died in the original post. ST-6 together with Delta Force and British SAS are the Tier-1 units and they are the very best at what they do at taking the fight to the enemy's own backyard. These men are right on top of the food chain and have the best training, and state-of-the-art weapons, equipments, etc. The kind funding these guys get is sky-high which is why they get the most difficult, second-to-impossible missions out there.
To lose even 5 operators in one incident is a big blow to the unit. RIP, warriors!
