The shooting guard was selected as the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft and is considered one of the biggest draft steals of all time. Ginóbili returned to Italy and only joined the Spurs in 2002. He did not take long to establish himself as a key player for the Spurs, and has since earned three NBA championship rings as well as being named an All-Star in 2005. In the 2007–08 season, he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.

Besides, picking a star in the 1st round doesn't count as a draft steal. MJ? Kobe? Puhleeeease.

Its just a rumor, Dli kabuot c kobe kung asa cya muduwa because it is his chance to be drafted,im not reffering only to kobe but to all nba rookies as well, they wont waste their opportunity to be drafted. no way can a rookie choose a team that would draft him and if nets really wanted kobe, y didnt they draft kobe instead? because kobe didnt want to play with them huh, nonsense..Yea,there is a NBA draft prospects but that doesnt mean it is the team that they will play with,it can be change especially the team that would draft first,so the team that comes next will pick the player that's left. so,NBA rookies will enter draft night 50-50,they are not certain of which team that would really draft them and not certain if they gonna be drafted.

So the Bottomline is,Nets chose kerry kittles instead of kobe
