@ glide1: the vdroop u are seeing is a typical stock Biostar BIOS issue. That's the main reason why i went for the Rebel's Haven Advanced Mod BIOS & further modded it for added params control. Try to scout the Rebels Haven site...people there w/ the same mobo as yours are kind enough to share their experiences & modded BIOS w/ u. 6GHz is just 1.4Ghz away...![]()
i couldn't agree more. my E4500 can only do 3.1 at 1.49 volts which is quite ridiculous. initially, i thought the issue was cpu throttling due to heat so i upgraded my arctic cooling freezer 7 pro to dark knight xigmatek only to find out that it can only do the same frequency.![]()
@ glide1: did u Enable your Load Line Calibration in the BIOS?
I have the same chip for a 24/7 rig. You should try lapping that procie, i did mine and temps came down a few. I got it to 3.4ghz @ 1.38 vcore if i remember correctly but these days i'm running it at 2.9ghz - no need to run it higher than that for my needs - 24/7, surf2x, email2x, etc......
simoko - i will check that site out, not sure i've seen that option (loadline calib) in the bios of this board. They probably have a different name for it. Will check when i get back from vacation.
Off for 3days so no comp, oc'ing or testing till monday.
Advance happy Easter to all!!!
@glide i cant wait to see na 5ghz hehehe...
mga guys! is it possible na mo affect sad ang imong PSU kung dili ka daog mo restart nig OC??!
Layo-a pa sa 5ghz oi, i doubt this chip will do it kay taas na kaayo vcore
Doing some priming - quick run @ 4.3ghz 1.38v. Will try go for lower vcore and get it stable at least 8hrs.
Been running the system @ 4.2ghz now and temps are really good despite the very hot weather we've been having. low 50's - 55deg tops at full load, idle mid 30's.
Also waiting for the gpu block to arrive, hopefully next week na!!
