im from the 4th district, balwarte sa mga Martinez but there's 1 thing i can say "POLITIKA ANG PANGINABUHI SA MGA MARTINEZ!"

the reason y CLAVEL ASAS MARTINEZ is pushing for sugbuak mainly because napildi man c Junie pagka governor & it seems hopeless na cla karon now dat Gwen Garcia is in the Capitol kay 4 sure n d next elections dili na jud mapildi c Gwen iya na gud ang Capitol advantage na kaau ang incumbent..pildi man gani cla nga dili incumbent c Gwen although gamay ra jud ang labaw samot na karon...

x-congressman Junie Martinez is already old after niya wala nay mosunod sa province kay f madaun ang sugbuak for sure ang mag hawod judang mga Martinezes and ang mo governor for Sugbu North wud most likely be Tining Martinez.

i've seen the Martinezes during election time & how dirty they play politics...4th district people knows how Martinezes play politics...

I hope the signature campaign against the spilt-Cebu bill helps...

    Campaign against split-Cebu bills continues

Just two days since the Cebu Provincial Capitol put up booths at Capitol entrances for the signature campaign against creating three more provinces in Cebu, thousands of signatures have been gathered.

This aside from the more than 1,500 signatures gathered at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

The number is expected to rise as soon as Capitol starts collating the signatures from the different towns and barangays.

Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia revealed that several supporters in the private sector have expressed their intention to hold their own signature drive.

The San Carlos Seminary will also gather signatures.

Now that the committee report on the bills is now with the committee on rules in the House of Representatives, Garcia promised to fight the proponents, as well as those in favor of the three bills, “every step of the way.”

    Power play

“They may have an upper hand in their own world but they are not the world. They may wish to wield the arrogance of power within their spheres of legislative existence, but that’s as far as they can go because we can make the Cebuanos’ voices be heard through other means,” she said.

Garcia has talked with ABS-CBN’s Charo Santos-Concio for the airing of a TV advertisement against the bills.

Oriental Negros Rep. Emilio Macias, who heads the committee on local government, has said they have transmitted the three bills to the committee on rules and that the motion for reconsideration of those who are against the bills is considered moot.

Garcia said this shows that there was an “all-consuming passion to railroad the passage of the bills.”

Reps. Simeon Kintanar (2nd district), Antonio Yapha (3rd district) and Clavel Asas-Martinez (4th district) have filed separate bills seeking to make their respective districts into the provinces of Cebu del Sur, Occidental Cebu and Cebu del Norte, respectively.

All three legislators are on their third consecutive term and cannot seek reelection next year.

I hope this signature campaign against the bill to break Cebu into four smaller provinces won't be a case of "a little too late"...

Mandaue City joins signature drive v. 3 provinces

The Mandaue City Government is literally displaying its stand against the breaking of Cebu into four smaller provinces.

A banner opposing the bills to create three new provinces is placed above the electronic time recorders at the ground floor of Mandaue City Hall, where employees log in and out. The banner bears the photos of Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia and Vice Gov. Greg Sanchez.

Women crowded the second floor corridor yesterday morning as they lined up to sign a petition against the bills.

The campaign for at least two million signatures is ongoing, with the hope that these will guide the House committee on local government in reviewing the bills.

But Rep. Emilion Macias, committee chairman, has said that the bills to create Cebu del Norte, Cebu del Sur and Cebu Occidental are already out of his hands.

These were already submitted to the House committee on rules, he said in a radio report.

Mandaue City’s petition states they are “vehemently against” creating three more provinces in Cebu. “We will not let power-hungry politicians make fun of Cebu,” it stated.

Attached to the petition were sheets of paper where people signed.

Councilor Wenceslao Gakit said this is part of the City’s multi-sectoral signature campaign.

The campaign includes government employees, tricycle drivers, public market vendors, urban poor groups, senior citizens, the Mandaue City College, public high schools and the barangays.

The Capitol is also coming up with advertising materials for national television, radio and print on the issue.

Garcia hopes the ads will send a message to the congressmen that Cebuanos do not want the province divided.

im from bogo and a true bogohanon.yes i can that this move(dividing) is selfish its very obvious. but sayong that bogo is left behind i think you all got it completely wrong. do you know the credentials of my town?please review the credentials first before youll say that my town is left behind.im not saying this because im backing up the Martinezes, and i have never been into such political stuff, this is for the love of my town.did you know that bogo has been awarded as 3 times as the cleanest and greenest town in the Pihls. and on its 4th time it was declared in the Hall of Fame for that.
yes there is corruption going on in my town, and i think you are aware of that also because it is also happening in your place.am i right?please take a look at yourself before you throw your dirt to others.
and to tell you frankly, this is not being bias but i think among the towns of Cebu i would say that Bogo is the most progressive town among all. only in bogo where you can find a Department store, in Bogo you can find a famous fast food chain in our country(Jollibee),in bogo where you can see the greenfields of sugarcane,in bogo you can find a clean and a well organized Market placewhere most of other towns from the 4th district go there to do their marketing,in bogo you can find a lot subdivision and a lot of realty projects and in Bogo you can see a movie house where you cant find it in other towns...and then you say my town is not progressive? show me the credentials of your town for me to know that my town is not progressive.
Hate the Martinezes and dont put dirt on my town...
