It may seem contradictory to refer to atheism as a religion, but anti-theists are now going beyond claiming God doesn’t exist to claiming religion is the source of all the world’s problems. So-called “New Atheism” is promoting the wholesale rejection of religion for the good of humanity and advancing science.
Atheism has been around since ancient mythologies, but since 9/11 atheism has become a growth industry. Best-selling books, celebrity authors like Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, new Web sites, lecture series and debates, appearances on talk shows. The New Atheists are finding footing in an American culture that’s scared, stressed, self-indulgent, and shallow. Disillusioned by churches offering feel-good pop psychology and the ever popular “Just have faith,” people are looking for answers. The New Atheists’ contention that no God would have allowed 9/11 makes sense to them.
But atheism doesn’t make sense either. Why be an anti-theist if there is no “theist”? If there is no God what are atheists so worked up about?

There has been a lot of talk about allowing Intelligent Design (ID) to be taught in the classroom, specifically in the science class. Many proponents of ID have no idea why it makes no sense to teach it in the science class. The latest tactic in the conflict is to suggest that atheism is being taught in the science class, because of course atheism is a religion….

According to the soon to be released film “Expelled”, the atheist scientific community prevents the poor little ID proponents from publishing any papers in scientific peer-reviewed journals. I guess I can see why some people could see a bias, but I think this is merely misunderstanding science and the scientific method. The basic assumption of science is that everything can be explained - there is no need to appeal to the supernatural. This is not, however, the same as atheism. Appealing to a ‘god of the gaps’ would stop scientific advancement in its tracks. You don’t need to be an atheist to study science. Many scientists are also theists and see no conflict. Conflict only arises when fundamentalists say that science is wrong because it doesn’t agree with the divine word of god. Political and religious views have no place in the science class.

is the church not confident enough of their indoctrination methods in having faith that most of their flock won't fall on these wholesale rejection of religion?..why worry about this "New Atheism" movement?..if the theists are soo sure that there's a god...parehas ra sa kadtong propaganda sa church sa una nga masturbation causes blindness..and you know for sure nga dli jd na tinuod and here comes this group advocating the opposite..since you're sooo confident nga dli mkabuta then why spend so much energy in countering this new movement nga makabuta ang masturbation?..mao sad na sa atheism ug theism..if atheist are just asserting a wrong cause why does the church keep tabs on them?..maybe perhaps there's a some truth in what these dumb atheists are talking about..they didn't hit the bulls eye yet BUT we must stop them from hitting it in time..

why is it nga naa mai disillusionment among people?..religion has had enough time to master their own indoctrination process then why is it that there're signs of faltering among the flock?..is the indoctrination process to be looked into? or the word of god?..if the word of god is the truth and the way and the light then why is there doubt?..surely the indoctrination process should've done a superb job in deflecting these doubts that can lead to dangerous heretical thoughts?

If atheism doesn't make sense then why is it gaining ground..and the church is at its heels keeping tabs on this puny ideological rubbish?..is it only your opinion or the opinion of the majority?...If there's a god then why give so much fanfare and importance to this..as smugly as we can say an upstart ideology that's based on scientific rubbish and none sense..let them blab about their own stupid ideology for all we care..we are confident enough that there is a god and we have faith that our own indoctrination machine will serve us well to deflect these stupid ideas from our flocks minds well into the next millineum..but unfortunately the church is acting quite the contrary.
