i live in mandaue, and sa ako lang pagtan-aw ha, naay projects si mayor cortes, pero ang problema kay ang initiative man sad sa brgy captain. i think my barangay has one of the worst problem-solving actions in all of mandaue. dili lang makita from the hiway pero ang baha taga liog usahay. walay action jud. pero nganu man lagi sa subangdaku, nindot man lagi kaau? naa silay sports activity area, gipanindot nila ang ilawm sa fly over. ang ako nalang karon maka reklamo jud ko about sa among brgy captain ug mga konsehal (apil na dinha akong 2 ka uncle ) na murag wala man jud na buhat.. pagkapaet..

basak,mandaue. sudlonon ang bahaan pero perteng atbanga sa brgy hall... sige lang pasuyupan every time. pero instead na band-aid solutions why not give it a real solution di bah? kahinumdum pa jud ko, elementary pa ko sukad ng install silag culverts, na maguwang ra sa karaan na canal. trabaho na ko karon, i think it's high time someone brings it up, changes them to bigger ones. luoy intawn among barangay kay ubos bya na. ang pagsabungan ug canduman ng improve sa ilang drainage, nya asa man ma pundo ang tubig? natural didto sa ubos jud na part. ang among property gud na taas2 pa sa dan, nabahaan man gani pag kusug ang uwan.. that was the time na ng taga liog ang baha didtong dapita atbang sa brgy hall

i would like to think that what motivated the IrO to cooperate with Mayor Jonas was that they had come to the realization that it would also be in their best interests if all political groups united under an able leader for our Mandaue and the Mandauehanons ...

all of them are leaders in their own right ... but they have decided to follow a GOOD man and leader ...

Mandaue wants DPWH to coordinate with the city

CEBU, Philippines - Mandaue City Councilor Diosdado Suico, through a resolution, will ask Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional director Ador Canlas to inform the city government about future projects it plans to implement.

Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes, during the Regional Development Council meeting at Cebu City hall last week, chided DPWH for lack of coordination with the city government.

Suico will ask Canlas “to make proper coordination with the city government, specifically with Mayor Cortes, before implementing a project.”

“We want to place all things in the proper perspective otherwise it will be a waste of people’s money and resources since it will not address the solution to the problem,” Suico said.

He said that due to the absence of coordination in the past, projects overlapped, wasting government resources and failing to address problems.

In a related development, Canlas, who has been more than a month in office, will send his technical personnel to sit down with the drainage committee of the city government to rectify the problems of the past.

City Planning Officer architect Florentino Nimor Jr. said the city and the agency will discuss, in particular, the controversial P30 million drainage project in barangay Subangdaku.

Earlier, Cortes wasn’t pleased when he learned that DPWH’s proposed drainage project in the barangay will not solve the flooding problem because the 36-inch in diameter culverts will be replaced with culverts of the same size.



Cortes wants 62-inch culverts to replace the old ones.

tinood jud na imo storya brod! nalukop jud sa reklamo ang mga taw. maau lang sa nakasabot na dili ni sala sa mandaue, kung dili sala sa dpwh. ang flyover sa maguikay, ang butuanon bridge, ang mga drainage systems. palakasay lang lagi. makahuna2 sad ta nga naay pinalabi ni sila... subangdaku ug banilad. perteng paeta namo didto sa layo. pakyaw intawn namo tanan, amo pang traffic, amo pang bati ug karsada, amo pa jud ang baha. to think naa ra jud na sa hiway ha! syaro pud ang mga officials sa dpwh dili maka agi ana oi.
