try hammering your digits with a wood-saw, that's how painful and savage the bites of these crickey herps are...

short, stout, uniform and not to mention razor-sharp teeth they have.. does inflict a very nasty and painful bite.. does a lot of mechanical damage to your fingers..

yeah they do bite a lot especially if wild caught.......but a lot has been tamed especially those that were taken cared of while they were young/hatchlings. They eat quite well in captivity (not the adults so much) though i've never heard of anyone in the Phils that was able to breed this species. Its rather unfortunate that we who have them roaming around our houses dont appreciate them and would rather settle for exotics like a leopard gecko when as a matter of fact these toku of ours fetches a lot more higher price in pet stores abroad than our coveted leopard geckos. Yes they are feisty by nature and thats what makes them unique. We just have too much colonial mentality to our thoughts that we'd rather look away from the unique and beatiful local species to acquire a cost inefficient pet like the exotics.....just my 10 cents of thought.....
