Help! Freezing Windows XP!

I have an Asus EeePC 1000HE (netbook).

The problem:
1. When I right click the desktop, my computer hangs.
2. When I open MS Office applications, my computer hangs.
3. When I open Control Panel, my computer hangs.
4. When I do a CTRL+ALT+DELETE, my computer hangs.

For problem #1, I was able to find a solution in google. I used ShellExView and isolated the cause and disabled it. This was successful.

However, I still haven't found the solutions for the other problems. I scanned for viruses and spyware but did not find any. Anyone here encountered the same problem?

try restore to last system that was okay.. or dl ug combofix then run.. that might fix the problem..

Attempted a System Restore but FAILED.
It says that computer can't restore to the earlier date.
I tried to restore it to more than 1 earlier date but still cannot complete restore.

use combofix.. it will fix the bug

downloaded and installed Combofix... BUT the moment I try to Scan Computer, the program freezes! tsk tsk
