do you know what you're talking about?
a lot of african/asian nations were colonized by the British...
- nigeria
- sierra leone
- cameroon
- sudan
- kenya
- uganda
- gambia
- egypt
- india
just to name just a few... look at them now?? ?? why are they still 3rd world countries??
the philippines was also colonized (and was even at one time a commonwealth) by the United States... (in my opinion would be better than the british)... how come it's still a 3rd world country?
while other countries colonized (more like influenced) by the U.S. such as Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, American Samoa, and a bunch of islands in the pacific, are now enjoying 1st world status (or at least 2nd world, definitely not 3rd world)?
and why countries like japan, south korea, taiwan, w/c i don't believe were ever colonized by the british, are such industrial giants?
soooo puhleeze!!! don't give me that colonized by such and such crap excuse!!
and what is this religion/catholic excuse crap?? italy is freakin' 90% catholic and they're not a 3rd world country!

just a thought... considering our present situation...
what if wala nagpa independent ang pinas sauna and then under americans ta just like guam? so basically were free to go in and out of the states..
funny how politicians and communist backed rally condemn vfa.. united states.. etc.. but tan-awa asa sila magbakasyon kung walay session? your guess is as good as mine.
Filipinos never had a culture as a nation to begin with. We were never united under one flag until the colonizers came along. Unluckily at our infancy the culture we had only the option of adopting was the Spanish one.
We hate natural looking Filipinos, we abhor dark skin, we dislike anything made in the country because for 300 long years we were taught to be inferior. The only way we would think better of ourselves would be to try to be as Spanish as possible. Not knowing that a great deal of the Spanish colonizers who decided to live here were themselves outcasts from Spain; many coming from Basque. Our richest spanish filipinos trace their roots to what was once a place where the n!ggers of Spain lived.
Now along comes chinese immigrants with their rich culture who think differently than us. From virtually owning just their balls in their pants they go on to build business empires the likes not even seen among Spanish expats.
Funny how an outsider can be more successful than natives in their own country. But this is usually the case.
bitaw... it's a bit unfair sad oi if we are to blame religion sa kapobre sa usa ka nasod... i made little wiki research on the richest nations today and their dominant religions:
Qatar - Islam (87.6%)
Luxembourg - Catholic (87%)
Norway - Church of Norway/Christianity (80.7%)
Singapore - Buddhism (42.5%)
Brunei - Islam (67%)
United States - Christianity (58.3% to 82.3%)
Switzerland - Christianity (77.1%)
Hong Kong - Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism (90%)
Netherlands - Christianity (43.4%)
Ireland - Catholic (86.8%)
Australia - Christianity (64%)
para nako... ang makapadato sa usa ka nasod kay ang iyang natural resources (e.g. mga Arab countries because of their oil) ug saktong management sa kini nga mga resources...

All I can say is, we cannot keep barking at all the problems this country is having.
I can only rely on myself that I can become a better citizen for this country.
If everyone is to have the same goal, our collective efforts will surely show some progress.
It will be hard to be Nationalistic when we are divided from the beginning.
We don't have to be Patriotic, or be Nationalistic for this country to be stronger.
We can be Individualistic, all striving to become better people, competing fair and square, but with all our might.
