from what I see.... its about the music scene in cebu.... not the TF SCENE in cebu....
naa man daghan banda nahan mo tokar bisag walay TF Booze and Chichas...... ma lingaw na sila..thats if
"IF YOU REALLY LOVE MUSIC....."
kung gusto mo maka kwarta mga showbands.... adto namu sa mga dagko nga bars oh..... like SUNFLOWER perhaps.... diha panginabuhi-ay nana mga manokaray diha...

the basic purpose of this event is to SHOW UR MUSIC...... MEET PEOPLE AND HAVE SOME FUN....... consolation prize nanang TF.......

Unless kung sikat na kaau moh?? nya naa namoi album?? por syor... wala jud mo balibad sa presyo sa inyong TF..... ana lang... murag main band mo for the night....

for me this is a good Idea..... I can still remember Urbandub before.... Ok lang sa ila mo play anywhere... coz they love music.... they play from house to house.....(silingan man jud ming lalay... adto mana sila permi tokar sa among village basta naa party2x sa ilaha..) they also play bar to bar.... skul to skul.... year 2005 tokar sila sa USC TC.. simpol ra bai man tingali to.... ge brown outan sila... nya ge uwanan pajud... all of that because they like their sound to be heard..... look at them now?? they are the most known band from cebu..... and still kicken ass....

so other bands there..... huna huna-a lang pud.... pila kaha kabo-uk ma nan-aw ninyo?? ang inyo TF na ge pangayo parehas ba kaha sa ka daghan sa mga tao mo tan-aw ninyo??

i think some of the folks here misunderstood the part of giving the band TF. JR simply made an offer like if you could bring in a spending crowd you could get a cut from it. ngano gud mo hatag ang productions/bar og TF if you cant gather an audience. dont expect nga production pa ang mag sige og pa lihok para ninyo. Allot of small-time productions here in Cebu dont earn a cent or anything from their events.

craft your art well until you can gather an audience because after all no matter how supportive the Venue/Bar can, the nature of it is still very much a business. like AntitaniC said, Urbandub didnt got paid when they started out. karon nalang nga naa nay naka uyon sa ila nga ang tao na mismo mo gasto para mo tanaw nila.

i have a band too although were not really aiming on getting famous, and fully understand that we're not deserving to have a TF(i like to say yet..hehe)... would it be nice nga the more cut you get means that you have an audience.... i also understand JR's concerns and plans as i myself also am involved in a Production.

i think big events and bigtime organizers they should provide T.F sa mga banda kay sa gawas dako na event naa jud T.F ang mga bands bsan dli pa kaau sikat. hopefully dri, tgaan nla gamay value mga bands
since they are earning BIG. but if wala, okies ra. . . consenxa nalang nila. LOL

yes.. like what I just explained.... TF... is just a consolation price..... its not that you request for this certain amount.... coz nobody really knows how many people will come when you play...
and some bands are requesting a TF already... its like

kami sa among banda kay bahala og walay bayad basta nindot ra jud og sound system. what's the point of playing in a bar when the sound system sucks. you do get paid but then you would not have fun doing it.it kinda takes away the purpose of playing if dili ka malingaw diba?samok man gud kaayo ning ubang bar kay tagaan ra ko og karaoke as a bass amp.bahista man gud ko.ang uban pud kay tagaan kay DI box para line-in.and don't even get me started on the drum sets..

@chuckie: yeah but reason why the instruments are bad its coz some bands usually dont care if they beat the sh!t out of them coz its not their instruments...you could argue that they production or those doing the setup coz buy new ones but then the money (if any) only goes to fixing up the old ones (at best). Simple raman ni na solution and thats for the bands to just respect the equipment.

well this kind of bars doesn't even know what music sounds like..... maybe they just think so much of their business..... daginot tanan instruments....

see... that's the problem there.... some band organizer doesn't know how to look for a band....
no auditions... to see if mal mal bani sila or unsa bah....

ang ending ma guba na ilang instruments... adto na sila mo repklamu....
so sala d.i nas sunod mo tokar?? kai ilang pagamiton ug guba?

if you really like your gig house to be famous.... make sure you supply a sound that is different than other bars... para mo patok...

@AntitaniC: yup, sadly we dont live in a perfect world na kung maguba ang cymbals kay diritso ta ilis. luoy ang banda na matimingan sa guba na gamit tungod sa band before nila na mal2x kaayo. ive seen this before and daghan na kaayo mi cymbals na dili mu last ug 1 month...its always some band na kiat kaayo na maka among sa tanan.

Entrance fee is only P30

Skinny Buddha provides TF sa banda, I think ticketing system ng ilaha. . . other productions simply just play and GO! bsta kamo na bahala mu judge. . . the best way to do here is support the band, pay the entrance fee (if wlay pang entrance honestsay lang. . .) buy drink from the bar, respect lang bah. coz
the bar needs to earn para naay pang rent. if we dont buy from the bar or pay entrance tix what will happen here in the future? CEBU MUSIK SCENE IS DONE! think of nalang mu close ang FnB,Kukuk's ,kitchebogs. asa naman ta puniton ani? balik nasad tah og FIESTA2x event! which is once a year mag atang ta sa mga barangay if asa ang naay tukar2x para lang mka gig. whew!!! i can imagine PLAYING DEATH or BLACKMETAL sa FIESTA2x that will shoooo the crowd. so i guess! let work nalang hand-in-hand and support the organizers. OKIES!!!!
