bottomline is, if you want to be gud at it, immerse yourself in the language. read, listen, talk and think in english. and if it sounds wrong, its wrong.
correct.not all are good in conversation skills but ive seen people who excel even when they lack in it(in the call center scenario).Originally Posted by babypaupau

REIRU is right don't use english spoken people or spoken english people. don't you mean ENGLISH SPEAKING PEOPLE?
one advice is start with the basics. use basic english. present tense, present progressive and past tense. don't try to impress others by showing off yet end up sounding like a fool. REMEMBER it doesn't matter if you're using elementary level english. the important thing is that you don't make mistakes and that people can understand you. and even if you do make mistakes especially on the he/she, is/are part that is acceptable as everyone and i mean EVERYONE makes the same mistakes
anyway other possible questions you will encounter
- what are your strengths and weaknesses?
- why should we hire you?
the really most effective way to improve your english skills is to think in english. and i mean, all the time. it will, however, impair or compromise your ability to develop or build up your knowledge of other languages, especially your native language, as i have learned to my detriment. of course, this exercise is coupled with listening to good spoken english (i.e., frequently listening to English radio, video programs of your choice like BBC, CNN). BBC English, however, is a synthetic product of British Broadcasting Co., and does not in anyway reflect the actual English spoken by the British people. and of course, reading and a good dictionary![]()
know the basics of tenses of verbs.. it would help a lot

mga bro & sis, if you think dli jud kaau mo fluent sa english, nya maglisod mo ug converse fluently ana nga language, i suggest start sa mo build up sa inyo english vocabulary...mao na ako gihimo karon...trend nman karon ang call centers, nya lisod man mg-apply kung bayabas ang imo iningles hehehe...so far i am improving with my english na...kung ma-improve ni nako ako vocabulary then maybe I can go up towards grammar, pronounciations, diction..etc..try this link www.increasevocabulary.net , kay nice kaau ila pointers diri nga gi-provide...for those nga naa sad ika-refer nga learning sites for english proficiency, provide sad mo para maka-help ta sa nagknahanglan hehehe....
the most common mistake are the use of prepositions. in, on into, onto, etc. those the things you should be adept in and you won't be embarrassed by bad English again.
