I spoke to one of the distributors. Here's how to know if its a fake:
For the normal styles (the flat ones), try bending it. it should reach from end to end and bounce back into shape when released.
The rubber is much softer. Never trust those sellers who say it's original but just "Made in China" coz duh Havaianas are made in Brazil.
The tag should have a hologram.
The strap should not be made of plastic and its thicker.
Otherwise, dont be fooled by 100-300 peso "Havaianas" unless you buy them in Brazil coz it sells there for that price. Otherwise, you'd be better off buying the stylized Banana Peel and Islander slippers at those prices.
Hope this helps.

i don think they are original! havaianas in the first place is the right spelling of the slippers. An incorrect spelling suggests a immitative nature. These slippers are only made in Brazil and are exported all over the world. P600 is the cheapest cost and this pertains to the simplest and plain design only. Havaianas has been a trend as footwear in going to malls and some casual places and not only in beaches. In the Philippines, its Rustans who was able to get the main distributor's license.
