guys, i think the major problem gyud right now is the SERVICE man.. well this is for me..

its not how short / long the lifespan a cam is. for me sulit naman ang camera, its when it breaks down ang problema. the extra cashout you have to spend for parts and labor, PLUS the follow ups, cellphone calls, long ditance calls, transpo expenses, hassle, MENTAL (psychological) STRESS, etc...

well, except sad like ma daut na dawon imo cam within 3 months or even 6months, dako na problema sad na.. right now, nahadlok na noon ko madaut ako cam kay tungod sa ka way clear sa canon service.. 2nd na ko nahadlok na mismo ang cam na daut. mismo wala pa nadaut ang cam, STRESSED nko thinking if ever mo land ako cam sa service center..

pidz, you're shooting with the 350D which is much more robust than the 300D. at least Canon learns some of their lessons and improved much of the problematic areas of the 300 model. I have a friend who is a heavy shooter and bought the 350D soon as it came out on the market. He hasn't had any problems with it so far.

Boss Mark,my friend will drop by nya dha later sa Gizmo. He passed by last night here, we compared his shots, medyo naa gyud problema iya exposure..i gave him your number , hope you dont mind.

We set it to P and even AUTO mode, took pic sa iyang hand at arms length,FLASh ON, Overexposed, i took also using mine, same MODE, same time, same place, same subject, FLASH ON.. ok ra.

(more probs) we set it using AV, set it to f/22, the cam set the shutter to "30. sakto2 lang, i set mine to the same mode and setting, medyo over exposed..

I think the better test would be to compare your friend's 300D to another... not your 350D. And to take shots using a greycard (or anything that's 18% reflective grey) in ambient light (same subject/camera positions and lighting)... not with flash!!! A TTL flash may not give the same amount of light from both cameras especially with if you haven't check FEC settings... which the 300D can't do but the 350D can.

pidz ur friend came here a while ago...he is my classmate diay from way back hehehe!
anyways, i checked the camera, some settings were "wrong" so i changed the settings, tried shooting again ang again, even had him adjust the the exposure compensation again and agian, perfect exposure every time...but even then lekramo siya my walls look so white kaayo kuno so i pluged it in the pc then he agreed they looked PERFECT

he grabed the camera ang pointed it away not even looking thru the view finder and took a snap (wish i had a copy of the file he took and posted it here...the only pic that was over exposed in our tests.)
the right side covered my arm and table about a foot away. the rest of the images was the back of my office up to 5-8 feet away. my table and arm true enough was over exposed but thats coz the metering was made at the back of my office and my table (dominant white) and arm was right in front of the flash!
    understandable diba?

with his complain about the flash...REMEMBER, 300D DOESNT have flash exposure compensation (FEC) so adjusting the EC doesnt equate to the amount of light the flash gives out!
i tried teaching ur friend how to use the camera correctly. then we took series of shoots. perfect exposure every time even with the builtin flash.

but still he insists on what he believes to be a busted camera. *sigh*

anyhow, again...its USER FAULT...and his WRONG understanding of how the camera works...

exposure compensation is not the same as FEC!!
