Q9450 still a good buy?

i like q9450 myself. was planning to buy it. then came corei7. everything changed. lol.

here was my original budget.
q9450 - 13k
mobo (crossfire/sli ready) - 10k

when corei7 came, was thinking of saving the money.
thinking of buying q6600 then corei7 after 6months or 1 year.
q6600 is very cheap + mobo around 5k-7k (for p5q). saves around 50%.

the reason why i like q9450 is the huge cache and the slightly higer fsb.
because of corei7, i dont think q9450 is cost effective anymore.
Corei7 prices are dropping fast.

if you have the money, go for q6600.
it will perform slightly less than q9450 but still does the job.

i7 prices are dropping fast, but decent DDR3 modules are not.. they still remain at a premium price and that also includes the 15k premium tag on the X58's

The FSB difference can easily be overlapped by overclocking the Q6600 to 400FSB, any P35 or higher can do reach those speeds, P45's infact can reach 500FSB on quads. The cache size difference is negligible performance gain for having a higher cache is less than 1% even on benchmarks, but the Q9450 benefits from a higher performance per clock but still its not a day and night difference at all, as what the OP said 7k vs 11k, id get the 7k and OC it at 3.2Ghz, but if the Q9450 is the only one available then its an obvious choice.

gaisano interpace just dropped the ddr3 to almost 50%
ddr3 1gb - from 1.6k (last jan20) to just 900 yesterday.
ddr3 2gb - from 2.8k to just 1.6k yesterday.

i still have to find out what brand this is.

^_^ is 4k really worth it? i think q9450 will only give you bragging rights. *grins*

Eh lulz, good luck wiith the DDR3 entry level anything under DDR3-1600 is a total waste.

back to topic - q9450 at 11k is cheap. 6600 is just a lot cheaper.

btw.. i like q9450 because it more energy efficient.. ako bayad bills ko eh... then mas lower temps nya.. for me means longer lifetime... heheh..

pero again.. its 4k more expensive.. hahaha.. and also based sa net.. bigger fsb and cache doesnt rily give that much boost... hehe
