    Ok here's some info...

Next Venus-Jupiter conjunction will be on Feb. 17, 2010, at around 6pm. The moon won't be around to join the two planets. Also, they will be very low in the western sky, so it will be difficult to view this unless you are facing sunset over the sea.

The next event that involves Venus and Jupiter, and two other planets (Mars and Mercury) will be a series of planetary massings, that will involve Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury and the moon on May 1-2, 2011, and Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Mercury from May 10-20, 2011. Uranus is actually slightly involved in this massing, but then Uranus cannot be seen with the naked eye (in fact, Mercury is very difficult to spot as well), so it will only be a 4-planet spectacle. BTW, kaadlawon ni nga event, mga 5am, so you have to wake up quite early and look towards the EASTERN horizon this time, and not west.

    I came, I saw

While Looking at the conjunction, I didn't know I was looking at a Incomplete Solar System. I finally get to understand and see a part of the Solar System. It was beautiful.

Actually, Venus-Jupiter conjunctions are NOT rare...want an example? I actually posted about a Venus-Jupiter conjunction event here in iStorya last January 2008! The thread is still here!

    https://www.istorya.net/forums/hobbie...ion-event.html

But since it was an early morning event, and didn't involve the moon (nag-appear ang moon, pero "guest appearance" lang, because it joined the duo after the conjunction), no one paid attention (except maybe for b|tcH_g0dd3sS)--the event was practically totally ignored by iStoryans hehehe. Pero mas closer unta to nga conjunction--Venus and Jupiter were really close, only a few degrees apart.

...which goes to show you something I've been meaning to tell people all my life...a lot of nice things happen in the sky above (and in nature, in general)...you just have to stop and look once and a while to take notice.

People are so absorbed in all their BIG earthly matters, they forget were a speck smaller than the speck of a speck, the "big" Sun being just one of the 400 billion stars in this galaxy, in a universe where we can see (at the moment) over 450 billion galaxies...do the math...you still think what you're doing is really THAT important?

Make sure you are asking the right question, before expecting the right answer.

Most people do not know the difference between these three terms:

    a) astronaut - a person trained to ride and operate spacecraft in space and trained to work in the vacuum of space wearing a spacesuit.

    b) astrologer - a person who specializes in the Zodiac and Horoscopes

    c) astronomer - One who specializes in astronomy, the study of heavenly bodies and celestial phenomenon.

I am an amateur astronomer. I am neither an astronaut nor an astrologer, but I am knowledgeable in both areas as well.
