That may be agreeable because from what we observe due to her undeniable natural beauty Davao's development are constantly checked and responsibly implemented rather than just succumb to wanton, crass developments. Actually Cebu and Davao would complement for the benefit of the country. Both cities should work together to achieve their utmost potential.

Davao's quality development should be continually addressed to ensure good stewardship to nature's priceless gift. When that is achieved Davao could even become not just Asia's but one of the world's most unique destinations when facilities and infrastructures are properly and responsibly developed. Want a European or mediterrenean feel of climate? Go to Marilog or trek Mt. Apo. Surf like the big waves of hawaii? I guess some beaches in nearby Davao Oriental may offer that. Boracay-like powdery white sand and word-class scenic beaches? Some secret places in Samal and Talikod are waiting to be discovered. Get a taste of locally grown strawberries, apple, dragonfruit, grapes? Davao's rich soil will nurture it, not to mention the exotic durian, marang, mangosteen. Dolphin watching? Who knows you may even get a glimpse of orca (!). Extreme Sports? Ride with the country's longest zpline and world-class whitewater rafting in Davao River. A cosmopiltan feel and overwhelming culture? Many foreigners have discovered the secret of where to best settle in the country, and not only that the rich diversity of culture with the country's most number of authentic, classic indiegenous peoples living in Davao with their history dating for many centuries, plus the migrants from all corners of the country. Not to mention the unique sights and experiences of Davao that nowhere in the world can offer with hearing the piercing cry of the world's rarest eagle, the profound, rare honor of being nested by rare sea turtles in a highly cosmpolitan city together with Miami, awed by the world's largest bat population, and after the exhausting trips drink the world's next best water.

Davao's vastness and very promising future is unmatched anywhere in the country, or even in Asia. Her potential so vast, with her resources, people, attractions nourished and protected and finally with the proper attention that she deserves, she can be the country's elegant showcase to the world as a truly global, highly cosmopolitan city that the whole country can be proud of.

davao is one of the best cities in the philippines, in the same way that cebu, baguio, makati, iloilo, bacolod, cagayan de oro etc. are also among the philippines' best, each city is beautiful in its own way and unique with what it has to offer, just remember that the philippines has 7107 (more or less, depends if low tide or high tide ) flavors to choose from so try to embrace our country's beauty and be amazed what this archipelago has to offer

Anyway, as a tourist I choose not to drink tap water so bottled drinking water are not selling very well in Davao?

Also what interest me is how Davao are responding like the "911" in the US? do they have fire trucks and police cars and ambulance responding to any emergency too? how does Davao implemented this "911" like support to the community? do they that every unit in every barangay? are they effective to be called and can claim like a "911" network?

Also "Asia's 5th best in Human Resource next only to Melbourne, Singapore, Hongkong and Taipei." so most OFW who are in tech or medical fields are from Davao and the domestic helpers, seamen and carpenters from from the other cities? how do you quantify this claim that people from Davao are Asia's 5th best in Human Resource but not the rest of the professional people from other cities in the Philippines?

    here how it works...

    DAVAO CITY 911

Davao City 911 adapted the concept of 911 that originated in the United States of America. They did not only adapt the concept but the call numbers 911 as well. It is the brainchild of the City Mayor Honorable Rodrigo R. Duterte as part of his peace and order program.

Launched in partnership with the Davao Light and Power Company, whose software – the Electronic Computer Aided Dispatch system or ECAD enables a functional system of saving lives.

    CALL CENTER

The 911 Call Center is responsible for answering emergency calls and logging the appropriate information on the ECAD system. The call takers pinpoint the precise location of the emergency on GIS maps projected on their computer monitors. The information extracted is automatically sent to the dispatcher who deploys the appropriate responder nearest to the scene of emergency.

    What is the ECAD System?

ECAD or the Electronic Computer Aided Dispatch System is a computer program developed by the Davao Light and Power Company which is being used by Central 911 to pinpoint the exact location of the emergency. It utilizes GIS maps plotted with grid lines to triangulate location of the caller . It also captures stores and recalls data in an electronic database.

    URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE SERVICES

Another pride of Davao City 's 911 is its elite Urban Search and Rescue Unit. Trained by the Army's Special Forces and the Philippine Airforce, this search and rescue unit is equipped with high-tech and cutting edge rescue tools and equipments for various cases like road accident extrications, high-angle operations, swift-water rescues, open sea and deep water rescues, confined space operations, and even animal control cases.

    EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES

Central 911 is manned by highly trained and competent emergency medical technicians ready to respond to medical emergencies. Each 911 ambulance is equipped with state of the art basic life support and life saving equipment and has communication gadgets linked to the Call Center and the Davao Medical Center . 911 EMS unit caters to pre-arrival and pre-hospital emergency medical care. They also conduct on-line or telephone triage and transport patients to medical facilities.

FYI it function as effecient just like 911 in the US and it's FREE! the good thing about Davao's 911 it saved many lives rich or poor!

    FIRE AUXILIARY SERVICES:

To complement the fire fighting ability of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Central 911 has established its own Fire Auxiliary Services Unit. These highly technical and well trained fire fighters operate and follow the incident command system during fire cases for the efficient operation and collaboration with the BFP and other Volunteer Fire Fighters. The 911 Fire Auxiliary Services Unit is trained and equipped to respond to high-rise fires and even the dreaded inner-skirt fires in highly populated areas

    K9 UNIT

Another feature of Davao City 's 911 is its very own K-9 unit. Its bomb and drug sniffing dogs were specially trained in Camp Crame . The 911 K-9 unit operates daily at the Davao City International Airport and other strategic places to help curb the threats of terrorism.

    POLICE ASSISTANCE

Central 911 provides police emergency assistance by dispatching mobile patrol units nearest to the crime scene. The City Government has provided the Davao City Police Office with Mobile Patrol Cars each equipped with radio communication equipment linked to the 911 Call Center.

Davao City the premier city in this part of the country will surely benefit its surrounding regions, in the same manner that Cebu benefited otherislands surrounding it. What are you talking about, even if we talk about your whole province, sa city area pa lang of Davao city it is nearly half of the total island of Cebu already. Not to mention pa dinha the much larger Davao provinces including Comval with one of the world's largest and highest quality gold deposits. In case you thought I haven't been to Cebu's provinces then no, and I even find your much talked-about Kawasan to be just typical of other attractions in Davao, even more enchanting pa nga ang experience nako with the Marilog falls, and Davao Oriental's longest ladderlike waterfalls is simply breathtaking. A trip to Marilog's awesome Arakan Valley stretching to as far as North Cotabato and before that moagi pa ka in between carved mountain cliffs on both sides of the road with real wild orchids (!) blossoming on its carved walls, then even strange wildflowers in its roadsides didto pa ko kakita a yellow bud but with violet flowers when blooming then pati mga aphids niapil kay color pud nila similar sa bulak, amazing. Marilog pa lang na, my experience with Mt. Apo's profound sceneries with sweet tasty wildberries from century old bonsai trees everywhere in the mountain path? Speechless na lang.
