That may be agreeable because from what we observe due to her undeniable natural beauty Davao's development are constantly checked and responsibly implemented rather than just succumb to wanton, crass developments. Actually Cebu and Davao would complement for the benefit of the country. Both cities should work together to achieve their utmost potential.
Davao's quality development should be continually addressed to ensure good stewardship to nature's priceless gift. When that is achieved Davao could even become not just Asia's but one of the world's most unique destinations when facilities and infrastructures are properly and responsibly developed. Want a European or mediterrenean feel of climate? Go to Marilog or trek Mt. Apo. Surf like the big waves of hawaii? I guess some beaches in nearby Davao Oriental may offer that. Boracay-like powdery white sand and word-class scenic beaches? Some secret places in Samal and Talikod are waiting to be discovered. Get a taste of locally grown strawberries, apple, dragonfruit, grapes? Davao's rich soil will nurture it, not to mention the exotic durian, marang, mangosteen. Dolphin watching? Who knows you may even get a glimpse of orca (!). Extreme Sports? Ride with the country's longest zpline and world-class whitewater rafting in Davao River. A cosmopiltan feel and overwhelming culture? Many foreigners have discovered the secret of where to best settle in the country, and not only that the rich diversity of culture with the country's most number of authentic, classic indiegenous peoples living in Davao with their history dating for many centuries, plus the migrants from all corners of the country. Not to mention the unique sights and experiences of Davao that nowhere in the world can offer with hearing the piercing cry of the world's rarest eagle, the profound, rare honor of being nested by rare sea turtles in a highly cosmpolitan city together with Miami, awed by the world's largest bat population, and after the exhausting trips drink the world's next best water.
Davao's vastness and very promising future is unmatched anywhere in the country, or even in Asia. Her potential so vast, with her resources, people, attractions nourished and protected and finally with the proper attention that she deserves, she can be the country's elegant showcase to the world as a truly global, highly cosmopolitan city that the whole country can be proud of.
