I'm thinking of going to Batanes and thought of asking if anyone in istorya have gone there. I've been talking to some Outdoors people and they absolutely love the place , although they say the weather gets to be really rough. This is close to Taiwan and weather there gets to be cold, but is prey to more than normal typhoons. But as one friend mentioned, when there its like your in Scotland, with the rolling hills, stone houses (because winds are a bit strong), but what caught my ear were the people, the culture is different from what we filipinos are used to...
They say people there run things in a special way, more like a Cooperative of sorts... say in a fishing village people go out to fish, when they come back everything is divided equally. I've heard beautiful things about the people there. Theres even a coffee shop that has no server, cashier - you go in everything is there , u make ur coffee and leave a tip or pay then go about your day - its amazing !!
The scenery is gorgeous they say , perfect for people who love Photography.
Well here's more info so folks if you've been there please share your thoughts and experiences i'd love to hear em
More info:
The Province of Batanes is the northernmost and the smallest province of the Philippine Republic, both in terms of population and land area. The provincial capital is Basco.
The province is composed of ten islands, called the Batanes Islands, located about 162 km north of the Luzon mainland in the Luzon Strait and is part of the Cagayan Valley region in Luzon. Of this island group, the largest and most economically important are Itbayat, Batan and Sabtang.
The Batanes Islands are separated from the Babuyan Islands of Cagayan Province by the Balintang Channel and from Taiwan by the Bashi Channel.
The northernmost island of the province, as well as of the Philippines, is Mavudis (Yami) Island. The other islands are Misanga, Ditarem, Siayan, Itbayat, Dinem, Batan, Sabtang, Ivuhos, and Diadekey.
Only Itbayat, Batan, and Sabtang are inhabited. The Batanes is about 190 kilometers south of Taiwan.

The sceneries are breathtaking, the people are super friendly, almost zero crime rate. Truly a paradise up north. Dapat maka-duaw jud ko diri before mamatay.. hehe![]()
