I disagree with what most of you think of Pardo Animal Clinic.

Vaccines are given to protect any animal, not just a dog for that matter, from any disease. The earlier the vaccines are given, the better protection they can give to the animal.

Vaccination for dogs, which is the controversial issue in this topic regarding this clinic, is just one of the aspects of dog care, not the entirety of the competency of the veterinarians concerned.

I have 2 dogs, the older one got sick with Parvo a year ago and the younger one had loss of appetite and vomiting. Both dogs were admitted, received medications and got well after they were discharged. 2 years ago, I also have a guinea pig who had bloody stool 2 years ago. They gave it medications and the guinea pig got well the next day.

I also had an exotic bird who had loss of appetite a year ago. I did not bring it to Pardo Animal Clinic since they told me they have little experience with exotic birds. Instead, I brought it to an Animal exotics specialist in the north of cebu (name still witheld for the protection of the integrity of the vet). The latter vet told me that he will do the best he can. Unfortunately, the disease which the bird had was too far advanced to be treated. It was discharged after 3 days and died upon transport back to my home. Lesson learned? Competency or even subspecialization is not a guarantee that your animal will not die if in the first place, your animal has an advanced disease already.

Pardo Animal Clinic has 2 licensed veterinarians and a clinic assistant who is an BS Agriculture Major in Animal Husbandry. The husband is 50 something and the wife is 40 something. (Complete names a witheld for the protection of their integrity). It has a branch in Mandaue City. Thus, this clinic is no doubt manned by experienced and competent personnel. (not quack animal doctors or quack vets as most of you might have thought)

In other words, I am still convinced that Pardo Animal Clinic is still an effective and competent vet clinic.

Responsibility for the care of dogs or any animal for that matter, not only rests on the veterinarian. The person with the most responsibility is the owner. As an responsible dog owner, you do not just take any persons' (or vets') advice hook line and sinker. You should have asked and even deliberated with the vet concerned if you have any doubts. And if you doubt your vet, well just like human health care, maybe its time you get a second opinion, not criticize the previous vet you have doubts with.

Vets are only humans. Let us not expect them to be perfect. They deserve to learn from caring of our pets, as we learn from them how to better take care of our pets.

We all make mistakes. What is important is that we learn from this mistakes. Let us not step on another persons' toes by destroying their integrity.

@ juandelacruz : Irrelevant kaayo imo comment bro. How about a vet who knows nga wala pai 2 months ang puppy pero iya gi-suggest nga ipa-anti rabies.. We know, vets are also human, that's why we are given the opportunity to study of what we want to. But what if that knowledge is being abused. What can you say to that? Would you still consider going to that vet clinic knowing that they are having malpractices?

@ juandelacruz : I have even an evidence, because we recorded the conversation through a cellphone recorder, from the very start the we entered that clinic, and informed that the puppy has not reached it's 2 months. I even consulted this to other Vet Clinics, top vet clinics in Cebu, and you know what they tiold me? Same comment as what the rest of Istoryans said in this thread except you.

@juandelacruz : Dog care? that's why we go to the vets because we think that they know what's best for our pets. But If you were on our shoe, would you still recommend Pardo Vet Clinic?

    CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG!!!!
    newbie with 0 post!!
yha maybe your from PARDO vet clinic..

yha base on my experience (been ahveing pets both exotic and domestic for more 20years) the responsibility of our pets is in our hand thats why we go to vets for the care or of pets, yes i agree vaccines are for protection for animals (even people needs vaccine) but the issue here is the age of the animal, as i know from my vet puppy have the immunity fo rabbies from thier mon for about 3months so meaning your required to have the vaccine after 3 months.. you cannot blame the reaction of the pet owner for what happen...

so straight this thing up can u prove or give any link that its ok to have your puppy at the age of less than 3 months to all these shots in one time.....

im also human and i stand corrected for my mistake.....
