“they were very fast in the first hours. But when it came to the dead heat of the vice-presidential candidates, the count began to slow down. It is the duty of the Comelec to say where the votes are coming from, and to explain what is causing the delay.”

The ability to fact-check and find out answers/explanations has been greatly enabled by the internet...more specifically by search engines. However, as much as there are good, authoritative sources of information out there, there are lots of bad ones as well. The key is to be equipped with the necessary critical thinking skills to spot fallacies and hoaxes. Even with that, there are huge range of issues where answers lie in a spectrum and it's not clear which one's right...but everyone has a strong opinion on it.

Some websites look objective and "smart" but it doesn't take long for one to realize it has a dog in the political fight. In other words, it's more than partisan; it's crossed the line to propaganda. Take Get Real, for instance. It states a laundry list of reasons why the Philippines is down in the dumps; even calls it a "failed state". According to that site, the reason why the Philippines is where it is today: Filipino Culture. You'd say "Okay, maybe that has something to do with it" and then you keep tabs what it has to say in the future. Who knows? One day it just might show us the "holy grail" to lift our country to "greatness". And then it starts ejaculating article after article about the Marcoses--how great the late Ferdinand was, how great that period was, how meritocratic...even how cute/pretty and eloquent the young Marcoses are. And then come election time, it writes article after article about cheating...as if only one candidate mattered. And that naturally got me suspicious about that site's raison d'etre.

The guy might have a point in all this. But when you stand back and look at the forest (instead of the trees), you suddenly realize that every single critique he's made actually goes against the very participants of EDSA: the Catholic Church, the students of our "elite" universities, the celebrities who took part in it (particularly APO Hiking Society), the masses who joined the bandwagon, the media institutions that eventually shattered Marcos monopoly of media, etc.

He may have a point. But it has become increasingly clear that the agenda was never to present an objective (let alone scientific) analysis of the problems. It cares about one thing: putting Marcos back in Malacanang. And that would set us on the right path to becoming the "next Singapore". That could be true. Who knows? I'm not against any of that.

The challenge to Get Real is to publish all his ideas (and prejudices) in a book with his name on it and have other "intellectuals"/"experts" critique it...just like what other great thinkers do. In science, it's called peer review. But it's not science, isn't it? Let's call a spade a spade. It's propaganda. I've no problems people buying into his thoughts. In fact, I agree to a lot of them...because we all share the same gripes. But, wow...I thought people move on. Some just wait patiently (like 30 years) and, to borrow a Star Wars title, the "empire strikes back." Life is full of ironies, doesn't it?

Is Leni Robredo that popular nga makabot siya ug over 14M votes?
ARMM a muslim-dominated region would choose a woman over a man?
I am neither for Robredo or Marcos. However it leaves a doubt bisan kinsa pa sa ila ang mudaog.
Had the Smartmatic not tweaked the source code, bisan pag mas daghan ang votes ni Robredo over presumptive Pres. Duterte, wala gyuy musquestion ana kay wala may nagtandog sa source code.
Ang bangiitan bayang election hacker kay tiga Columbia, South America. Unya kaning naghilabot sa Smartmatic kay silingan nila nga tiga Venezuela.

    Now consider these:
South Americans being predominantly spanish speaking, except Brazil, is too familiar with the Ñ character.
That is where we got the Ñ character; from the Spanish alphabet which Venezuela and Colombia are also using.

So how could Smartmatic miss that one in the first place.? There system is being used in South America during elections.
