did I say that their apology not accepted?! u can even check my previous posts, i never mentioned about it...let me clarify my stand in this matter...I feel insulted as a Filipino from the said remark but what they did, a quick response (apology), is the best thing they did - which means they are indeed sensitive of what is going on around and they are concerned of their fans point of view...

and to those politicians who are asking more than the apology, yabaga jud ug utok nila...samot na ta ma stereotype ani! saonz nalang!

and I was only replying to this phrase u posted earlier "naa silay katungod kay ilaha ng lugar. dili ta kabuot nila kay ingana sila pagpadaku. if ari sa Pinas then kita pud ang magbuot." which is pertaining that it's ok to issue a racial remark because that's how they're raised, which would lead to the question are they raised as racists?

are we onion-skinned or pea-brained? or onion-skinned, pea-brained loud mouths!

..."some med schools in the philippines"... the 'some' could mean the diploma mills in the philippines.
even if it meant actual schools in the philippines, that's nothing new to the filipinos. why, don't we have a hierarchy of schools in our own backyard? don't we discriminate schools in our own country? or we just have double standards in dealing with things.

from the number of petitioners who readily jumped into the bandwagon, I saw a big herd! holy sheep! where's reason, independent mindedness, or cool? some pinoys on facebook even join other networks just to start a thread about it, calling other filipinos to sign the petition. my poor country. even if what the fictional stupid character said could be interpreted as a slight against the flipinos, there are legitimate professional organizations or agencies that can officially and effectively address it. but for the whole nation yakking over it? i can't help but feel how small we are.

mao na'y giingon, 'da, nganong mi-enter!'. usab pa mo tan-aw. dat's amerikan telebisyon! mga inday ug ondo! AMERICAN TELEVISION! *** and the City, Family Guy, South Park..., hala ka diha! american television is adult, straightforward, rude, and that is too much for the Filipinos. the yakkers can get back to their cheesy, self-absorbed Tagalog telenovelas, which are also full of political incorrectness.

point is, Filipinos tend to overdo on anything. that's a fact! in a world that is getting smaller and more assimilated we just can't continue on blowing our gaskets everytime our feathers are ruffled. or else, THE FILIPINOS WILL ANNOY THE WORLD!

that's my fear... and for me that's the real embarassment for Filipinos...

there's such a thing called being "palaban" pero kanang naa sa lugar... if we're offended, then we get back at them by telling them what made that line wrong... fortunately there are a couple of cool-headed people from the blogs that I've read who happened to be Filipino doctors themselves... they don't support the ridiculous demands from the mob but they were able to point out INTELLIGENTLY what makes that line wrong without sounding like a caveman on the rage... they were able to understand the context and insightfully point out the fallacies in that line...

and yes, ABC already apologized, wala na dapat pang laing OA na demanda ang mga Pinoy ana... instead they should redirect that energy to something more productive...

The negative press we have right now is OUR fault. We have a corrupt government. We have Filipinas who married foreign nationals for money. We have presidents who lacks a diploma. We have a president's spouse who is THE leader of smuggling. We have celebrities who runs for public position. We have kangaroo court that it's almost like a reality show. And we wonder why we are viewed as inferior? THIS IS ALL OUR FAULT!

The damage was done by us. It's true that we have substandard educational system...not just in the medical field. Why can't we admit that? It's not their fault that we are humiliated or felt insulted by the truth. Because the truth is, how people from other country see us is directly proportional to how we act.

This is how they see us:
    1. For women : Sluts (there are more Filipinas compared to other nationalities in the internet naked and they get younger every year)
    2. For women : DH
    3. stupid (for voting celebrities into public position)
    4. etc

So don't blame them for telling the truth. Can you blame them?

Maybe it's just bad timing or you just missed it. Cause it was really on a lot of tv channels - at least here in California. Saw it on CNN, CBS, FOX news, & of course ABC ( though they really downplayed it by keeping it till the end of the news ). They didn't show the video clip- just said that ABC apologized. It was on ABC's THE VIEW. But remember Cher Calvin of KTLA ? She gave it a lot of coverage. Aside from including it in their KTLA news she took time out to appear on an Asian channel's tv show after TV Patrol. She was a special guest and had a lot of nice things to say.A lot of Pinoy called in to give their comments during the show. Btw Calvin used to work in the Phils. Channel 7's GMA and in Las Vegas before ending up here in L.A.
