Well, we sometimes overlook the fact that there is also a diminishing number of women who require the presence of such chivalrous men. Chivalrous acts grow less and less noticed and rewarded that sometimes the lot of us surrender to the trend or just refuse to go through the painstaking way of chivalry.

I'm not making any excuses, there is really no excuse for bad manners, rudeness, impoliteness, tactlessnes, and everything else that is less than courtly. Being well-mannered is supposed to be natural to everyone, and believe me, I try.
