It can only be described as 'SELF INTEREST'.

    baron & taga_ipil:

why do you compare both killings as if they are equal occurences?

extra-judicial killings and forced disappearances of activists were done outside the context of a military encounter, while the deaths of the soldiers, however gruesome it was, was treated as a legitimate military encounter with the MILF (or ASG, for matters of dispute). the first was allegedly done by military forces on civilians, while the other was an unfortunate consequence of a military encounter between two armed groups. there is a wealth of difference between the two.

while we should not belittle the most horrifying manner of death that these soldiers suffered, we should not twist and use this unfortunate occurence to malign and downplay the legitimate concern of human rights violations of the Arroyo administration. the forced disappearances and systematic killings of journalists and activists are real, as real as the bodies of the beheaded soldiers.

does the fact that the latter happened justify that the former should be forgotten?

    i sincerely hope not.

Ka experience naka ug Massacre bro?
Kay kung wala pa bro.. pakit-on tika unsa ang word nga NO MANS LAND sa amo...
there is no such thing as Legitimate encounter in our place, in the first Place MILF and ABUSUYOP dont have that in their vocabulary
That's why when Estrade Declared an all out war we're very happy about it, in order to end the ASG's reign in our place.

They dont have proof that the Arroyo government did it,
same as those activist denied that they are a member of the leftist group and made those "organization" as a front to
cripple the government!... how will you call it a legitimate if there was no proof that they did it...and how sure you are that they were activist and not a leftist?
