well, theres nothing wrong I suppose, by hoping Dumbledore is still alive.

2-3 things I imagine...
first, to save Snape from whatever fate that awaits him should he not fulfill the conditions of the Unbreakable Vow with Narcissa
second, to give Voldemort a false sense of security. Dumbledore is the only one who could challenge and beat him, and now that he's gone, theres no need to hide and attack from the shadows anymore...

hence, there would be a lot of people dying.
