Default Feedbacks about work sa STARBUCKS

uhmm.. I work in a bar also serving coffee like starbucks.. "alone" from 8am to 5pm then 2 of us from 5pm to 1am.. I work staight no breaks.. kaon lang ug maka bakante then ma putol pa ang kaon kung tawagon ka ug customer.. and we are service not self service.. I work 12 hr shift time to time but mostly 10 hrs shift per day.. 70 hrs a week..

Did I quit?? nah.. I just love my job.. My question to you.. do you love your job.. did you enjoy working with your colleagues? There is nothing wrong with your work.. just don't compare them to others.. such as mas maayo pa ila company kay dali ra ug dako pa ug sweldo.. from that point Frustration build up then start naka ug kalagot like sa imo situation.. I am not saying your wrong cause maybe you have some other reasons but anyways just an opinion..

Working 10 hours straight is beyond me! If you feel you're not going anywhere with Starbucks then quit -- no reason to stay. Are you being paid with the extra 2 hours as overtime?

I agree with the other comments. If you think dli jud nimo kaya, then quit. But do it the right way, ayaw ug AWOL, resign lang ug tarong.

    Mu-answer ta ani bi. hehe.

    1. True. Resign properly, ayaw ug AWOL.

Why? Mapi-ang ang shift. Malooy sd ka sa imong isig ka-barista nga mabuang ug salo sa imong shift. If you don't like them or respect them -- it's fine, but please bear in mind that they are just like you, kapoyon pod.

    2. It's never "sosyal" to work as a barista.

Starbucks shift is 10 hours for full-time partners; part-time shall have at least 20 hours/week, maybe more depending on store needs. Kapoy jud ang trabaho sa Starbucks oi, especially if your store isn't one of the big ones. Ikaw tanan, mop, limpyo sa CR and labay basura - hard physical labor. Big stores usually have MCRI, janitorial services for Starbucks and other Rustan companies. All of these things can really affect you if you're just in it for the "sosyal" name.

You do have the chance to meet and rub elbows with people you don't usually have access to when working in other fields (call centers ,for example). But then again, naa ra pod na sa tao how to UTILIZE this chance of talking to and actually being friends with people of influence. I've seen baristas being offered jobs on the spot by both local and foreign businesspeople. This, plus if you know the right people, you gain FREE entry (plus FREE booze) to great parties in Cebu. hehehe

    3. If your heart isn't there, go find it somewhere.

Passion is one of the keys to "work happiness". If di nka happy sa work , or the people you're with, it's best to move on.

I truly hope you find what you're looking for. I, too, was once a Starbucks barista for a looonngg time, until I found my passion somewhere else. But it was one of the best experience I have had in my life.
