as per my previous post, dont criticize the way davao is being handled by our vice mayor until you experience living in our city yourself. its easy to react kung nabasa ra nimo or nakit-an sa tv. if you actually live here, you will really appreciate what the duterte's have done. limpyo ang davao halos dili ka makakita ug kalat na basura, disiplinado mga tao, dili ka iladon sa mga taxi drivers, kung musuroy ka tunga sa gabii makauli paka sa inyoha with complete gadgets and accessories, if you are a non-smoker guaranteed dili ka maka inhale ug 2nd hand smoke from public places and public transport. etc.

its slowly getting more and more like singapore really. with the way the duterte's are handling our city, investors are pouring in... 2 na kabuok among sm mall, the 1st sm mall in ecoland was just expanded, abreeza/ayala mall is already expanding, s&r is currently being constructed, new hotels are popping out like mushrooms, high rise condominiums are also popping out like mushrooms, tim tebow (from the NFL) is currently building a children's hospital here. etc etc etc.

if you lived in cebu (or any other city) all your life, and havent tried the davao lifestyle, then i think you cant fully understand the concept of the dutertes.
I see. Thanks for sharing. If his methods works well, then good. But for me, mas maayo guro if hatagan nalang ug lifetime imprisonment without possibility of parole kaysa patyon jud.

Exactly. Many innocent lives will be taken if this kind of leadership goes on. How sure are we that all of those people that were killed by the vigilantes are true criminals? What if some of them are innocent? Others could be framed or alleged because of business rivalry and etc.

This is why we need due process.. This is why we need the Law.

I just remembered the movie "Law Abiding Citizen". I truly believe that some cases are not properly brought to justice due to corrupt criminal justice system. But in Yu's case, killing him because of his lowly crime(car thief) is unjust.

Jesus ****ing Christ, not a single person in this thread has claimed the victims aren't humans. Congratulations on posting something against a stand nobody has made.

How about learn to address the argument that is being made, not the one that you created for yourself.

And yes, for the first ****ing time on this thread, I'm now somewhat pissed. Again, congratulations on this achievement. Your post implies that those against vigilante killings are ignorant to the sufferings of the victims and that is plainly false and stupid assumption to make.

Wala man nagsulti si Duterte nga patyon si Baktin. It's either na misunderstood nimo iya pronouncement or wa jud ka kasabot sa tibuok circumstance and what usually happens when you try to arrest hardened criminals or with the same caliber..

Kanang magpost ug "Wanted: DEAD or ALIVE" ang DILG, PNP, CIDG, NBI, AFP, or even LGUs on these hardened criminals and with matching reward pa, is this also a form of vigilantism/human rights violation? IF THAT'S THE CASE AND YOUR ANSWER IS YES THEN EVERYBODY IS GUILTY AND WE SHOULD REFRAIN FROM SINGLING OUT THE DUTERTE FAMILY. Another thing we should also remember is that Duterte CANNOT and WILL NEVER impose anything without the support of the entire people of Davao City.

Was there a referendum held? Does the Kingdom of Davao operate it's own unique legal system, separate from the rest of Philippines? There is more than tacit approval for extra-judicial killings emanating from this clan, what we are seeing is brazen abuse of authority and I don't buy for one minute the notion that Davao would collapse into chaos without their firm hand, although I strongly suspect that is precisely what they'd like the populous to believe.

directly, this affects/targets the ones who are drug users/pushers/peddlers who are "directly" affecting/targeting the ordinary citizens...

indirectly, this affects the businesses of the "rich and powerful" by curtailing/diminishing the "supply and demand" for their "business"....and i think it would be a good start....

there is no "cure" to this....like the common cold....
