Recent war movies I watched again recently are:
Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
starring: Orlando Bloom, Liam Neeson, Edward Norton
Directed by: Ridley Scott
Great epic movie about the war for Jerusalem between the Christian Crusaders and the Muslims led by the venerable Saladin...
Great movie. I don't know why this is not as acclaimed as Gladiator... I love epic war movies like these.
Also just watched:
13th Warrior (1997??)
starring: Antonio Banderas
An Arab noble cast out from the Sultan's court and found himself fighting alongside Norwegian warriors againts a mysterious tribe.
Braveheart (1994)
Starring: Mel Gibson
About the Scots fight for independence led by the legendary William Wallace againts the control of of England. Truly one of the greatest epics of all time. I think this won best picture in the academy awards.
I love war movies that are set in the past with swords, crossbows, axes rather than modern warfare...
