if you followed this case, the police superintendent then and I quote, "this could have not been done by addicts because the crime was "too clean". after they had a suspect, he also said, "consider this case solved". yes they were picked up because of police records based on testimonies of shabby winesses. remember that the officemates if the Chiong sisters did not see the actual abduction but another set of witness said they did.

now this is theory, where can you find a case wherein in every stop they allegedly made, there were witnesses in ALL stops? if you are going to ask me, the chiong sisters were TOO LUCKY that it almost seemed that there was a director of their abduction just like a movie. secondly, Rusia did not see the actual rape? the judge who was eccentric and a hermit and lived a very testified by those who knew him all his life suddenly lived a double life as a "hotel-partying D.O.M. with hookers and all." Plus, the hotel room crime scene was tampered with, which would lead us to another question of WHO & WHY?

up to this day, the Chiong 7 are still wondering who could have orchestrated this and what is the motive and of all people why they are fall guys.

but in the case of Paco, if he indeed fitted the description of who the Chiong sisters saw then it was 100% case of mistaken identity, WHY?

1] because Paco did not like to go to Ayala.
2] Paco was not courting any of the Chiong sisters or even knew them.
3] Paco was indeed in Manila.

the crucial part of this case though is that if it will be proven that Paco was mistakenly identified, then there is a chance that the rest of the Chiong 7 convicts will be exoneratedthat is why a re-trial is essential. I cannot speak for the rest of the Chiong 7 though but if Paco was indeed in Manila during that time, the prosecution will crumble like a house of cards but of course, at this time this is all just wishful thinking.

and about their lawyers, all that I mentioned in this entire thread is also what they have in mind but they were not given a chance to present it in court, DID THEY? if you remembered, ALMOST ALL the testimonies and evidences presented by the defence during the RTC trial were ALMOST INSTANTLY junked or silenced by Ocampo EVEN if it WAS worth hearing or considering. In fact they were wondering why the late judge acted as such when he was normally a very impartial and though eccentric, a very objective judge.

in short, there were a lot of questions that were left unanswered. needless to mention a lot of "mysteries" surround it that is why a lot of ghosts from its past are haunting it to this very day even if the SC has already decided.
