techno can be very general, my friend. like rock, r&b, it also has a lot of specific genres. basic exmaples are house, trance, garage, drum and base. then when you know na waht sepcific type, prolly we can go deeper. i personally like vocal house. for the chicks (like myself) i would suggest go for "kaskade" no not "it,s you, it,s me" try looking for "here i am" "stepping out" "sweet love" "in this life" "everything(big room mix)" "i like the way" "gonna make it"

or better yet, get a valid credit card, go to iTunes music store, and d/l all his songs, including the extended tracks, just like what any normal kaskade nerd readily does everyday.

It depends what style of techno you go for... There's deephouse, trance, industrial, chillout and so on...

Air (downtempo)

look for the TECHNO TRANCE thread.... it has a comprehensive list of everything u need about this genre.

i recommend chicane, paul van dyk, atb and oakenfold. they are the basics.
