if i have to choose again where would i wanna move in apart from my home country id still choose oz.Australia truly is the lucky country...all the opportunites of a developed nation with none of the problems (crime, pollution, overcrowding, weirdos like on jerry springer). Plus awesome natural wonders and people who are friendly, laid back and good looking. Not too mention the cricket, bbqs, beer hats etc... the huge country, small population, beautiful weather, brilliant at sports, healthy environment, gorgeous animals, fabulous surrounds, stunning reef, the great distance between Oz and the northern hemisphere and of course ozzies !!! .

hahaha, pwede naka marketing secretary sa aussie nitwit!

Well, I can't deny Aussie is a bloody great place, but in Canada, 1st class medical benefits, superb social benefits, vast opportunities, friendliest people (they even make a joke about it), virtually zero discrimination, multicultural country, 4 seasons (BC having the best weather), crazy hockey fans all across the country, politics works great, filipinos everywhere, filipino stores and restos (oo may palechon rin kami ), medyo malayo nga kami sa pinas but malapit naman kami sa tates, just do a landtrip from vancouver to Seattle or Toronto to NY!! natural wonders is superb, Niagra falls anyone? this is the home of the dinosaurs, actors and actresses to be proud of, Wayne Gretsky, Bret the Hitman Hart, Leslie Nielsen, Avril Lavigne, Jim Carrey, Elisha Cuthbert and more!!! NBA and NFL teams, not so affected by natural calamities (except for snowstorms and hales hehe) and much much more! sounds like a top notch country ey?

you dont say aussie sir if your referring to the country itself, either oz or aus,we use aussie/ozzie if your referring to the citizens of the country. ,.

when it comes to 1st class medical benefits, OZ ranked third, canada 6th,if you say discrimination, have you been here mate? i have been to van 2 years ago and i must admit is a nice place but i cant stand the cold weather still, yes you have nice views and beaches but whats soo good of the beaches there if you cant swim cause the water is freezing cold?and another thing that is soo good about OZ is the ACCENT!!! i dont consider a top notch country sir if your gonna have to shovel snow everyday for a couple months?thats alot of hardwork. and i've heard from my filo friends that its a pain in the neck when you need to have a morning shower, the taps are like running ice, and what about the door knobs?its frozen that sometimes they have to break it!geez. if your talking about country with the most olympic gold medals then i think you need to google that cause if my memory serves me correctly, oz ranked 8th,canada ranked 17 .sports-wise we can do both here, summer and winter sports,oz is unbeatable in cricket and surfing and i could go on and on.lol.i just love the lifestyle here, its simple and not materialistic. we wear thongs and singlets but who gives a sh*t?when it comes to actors,Australian Actors who are in the top industry inthe world. eg Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, heath leadger,to name a few. , i know you like van sir and i respect your choice and im not gonna argue with that, your happy there and so am i here. .BUT IF YOU GOOGLE IT, AUSTRALIA RANKED 2ND TO FRANCE FOR BEING THE BEST COUNTRY TO LIVE IN AS OF 2010.alot of refugees/boat people even risk their lives just to come here, thats why its called a lucky country because it s a country with all the opportunities and benefits and its worth dying for.

Hi Nitwit, I don't know about the google, lain2x man ang result, maybe because it depends on the aspects, but the last time I read about the yahoo news (i think late 2010) Vancouver is the best place to live overall, maybe that changed already, shoveling? ahmmm....yeps, but it's not everyday, Calgary can be considered a cold city, but we didn't shovel everyday, and we have what we call snow blower, its not that pain in the ass, just like mowing your lawn with a lawn mower, but I got to admit that it's tiring, that's the greatest downside here, but i disagree with what you said everyday, maybe if naa naka sa yellowknife , much more for vancouver, they have the mildest snow, same with Victoria. Well I haven't been there, but I'm pretty sure there is more discrimination there than here, as I mentioned before, here is virtually zero, nada, that's where the Canucks word came from, novel character Johnny Canuck, (kung satin pa Juan dela Cruz) who's ever friendly and tame, I don't need to go there to know which place is more discriminating cricket? i think India is better, surfing? hmmm....maybe, or maybe Hawaii? hehehe, ewan ko lang, basta i know nothing beats Canada in curling Winter Olympics! love it. As for the accent, I've got to admit, you sound classy, but then again, for us filipinos we're good at american english so i prefer the accent here, we can adopt better.

    10. University fees? unless you are a spoiled brat, everybody is availing the study now pay later program so the parents dont have to pay a dime,
9 I've got to admit, i dont even understand this hehehe

same here sir. van and so as toronto are nice place.clean but for some reasons i just cant put up with the weather and i reckon most filos dont but they have to get used to it thats why i must admit we're lucky to be in oz cause we get the best of both worlds, summer can get as hot as philippines and winter, unless if you live close to the mountains then its not that bad. at least your backyard pool during summer wont be a skating ring on winter

fair dinkum sir but when i say unlimited unemployment benefits, that includes, money you get from the govt/centrelink every forthnightly, parenting payments are around about 400/600 per child, and you get another aud$6000 baby bonus as soon as you give birth or if you adopt a child, and another 6mos to 1 year paid parental leave which is another 600 dollars per week . a 4 weeks paid holiday every year. according to my canadian friends (there's still filos but are now working there), canada's benefits are nowhere close to what the aussie govt could give.

and hey!theres more! if your a refugee, you get 500-600 a week allowance not to mention free house and free school tuition fees. where else in the world can you find that? thats why its called a lucky country.

talking about vancouver, its one of the best cities in the world to live in as of 2010 but arent we comparing canada vs australia here? and accrdg to 2011 u.n survey, australia ranked 2nd canada is 5th-6th. i think i pretty much explained that well why.
by the way ill tell you my most embarassing experience when i was in van, in oz you don't give tip to restaurants here people dont normally do that cause our waiters/waitresses are making good money but when i was in van i thought it could have been the same but guess what? the waiters/waitresses are expecting you to tip them . oz have the best cheap seafood and even steaks! discrimination? you should come visit here first before you make such assumption that we are racist people . if aussies were racist then the govt shouldnt have let those refugess/boat people to come in the country and give them all the benefits or more, than a aussie citizen can get. which part can you say we're racist? maybe your referring to the tea towel head or other races but the real aussies are not racist. thats why they call us the most laid back country

another thing, YOU DONT GET 3 WEEKS ANNUAL LEAVE IN B.C only 2 weeks, unless if you have worked in that company for over 5 years then your entitled for 3 weeks holiday . my cad friends told me that for we get 4 weeks holiday here while they only get 2

Hi nity, yeps, it's their custom to give tip here, even if you use a cr card, not bad actually because service is usually good, but you still have a choice, as for being racist, i've read that all over the net, aus is also my consideration before coming here, again, i agree, unless i personally experience that, i cant validate it, but one thing i can validate, Canadians are the most friendly people to my knowledge, that's why I'm pretty confident to say there are more discrimination there than here. Now, I'm not very knowledgeable about allowances coz I'm single and not that long here, but from what I know from my friends the child tax benefit is pretty big, depends on your income, one friend of mine use that for her kid, and the rest he pays for the amortization of his car, technically iyang anak may ga bayad sa iyang sakyanan, again we have Employee Insurance, if ma taktak ka, you have a year of allowance for that, but again, you have to pay a premium while your employed for that, i dont know if may bayad ba pud sa inyo, maternity is 1 yr and so is paternity (i think), other than that, if your a low income earner, you'll receive a quarterly GST allowance, you can ask a month supply of groceries from the foodbank 6x a year, if you dont have furnitures govt will provide, and even everyday food, makipila ra ka , again i think vacation leaves depends from the company, like me, relatively new, ill get 3 weeks vacation after 2 years I'll get 4, so depende ra jud na, dinha ba ang 4 weeks is across the board? which I doubt..what I love about here is people here are too rich that they give away things here and there, mga piano, tv, sala sets, washing machine, refs gi pang hatag lang, even sakyanan, last time i saw sa website a 1998 mazda gi pang hatag ra, uban as low as 300 dollars maka palit naka sakyanan heheh, hey they even give their kitchen sink lol, garage sales are everywhere, mao mga pinoy ngari abtik kaau, bought an altec lansing speakers for a dollar hehehe; well as I said, very similar atong countries, i guess that will depend on your preference, like ako, sington ko, daghan pud ko hubakon na frends but ngari, wa jud na problema, ako di na ko sington pag abot sa work unlike before sa pinas kay init, for me its better to be cold than init, cos mag add raka layers solve na, pero kung init, ambot lang saun na pag butang ug electricfan sa sanina hehehe

Forgot to say na way linog ngari, nahibung jud ko kay akong boss na tiguang wa pa kuno ka sulay ug linog, mura mag di katuohan hehe, haven't experience brownout pud, snow snow snow ra jd, then there are a lot of big companies here, to name a few, Reuters, Bombardier( kanang sa IT park dira hehe) and Blackberry's RIM are all canadian companies, and oh did I mention that the Bieber fever all started here? baby baby baby ohhhhh.....
