dv3 auto off

Hi all, I bought a new HP Pavilion dv3 last night. I took it home and started setting it up where I started with updating windows 7. Since then, every time I start the laptop, it goes off by itself. I tried to boot in a save mode, but same thing happen. I want to update the BIOS, but not time to do that since the laptop goes off within a few seconds of booting up.

Any help is greatly appreciated

is the battery fully charged? or na drain na? try turning it on with the powercord plug into the outlet
