I'm thinking of keeping a few beetles as pets. I'm doing a project and I'd like to study their behavior and movements.

So far i've just modeled this beetle.

gem, kumusta? nice interest nimo karon ah. i'm also into invertebrates hobby karon...primarily Tarantulas. But gamay pa akong mga pets. hehehe!

naka encounter na ko ani nga beetle bai, but you will normally find them in areas where there are lots of coconut trees. usahay masaag na sila in subdivisions and they sometimes fall to the ground after hitting the light on a lamp post.

naa koy contact sa flickr who's also into beetles. I'm not sure if related sa work niya ang iyang beetle collection. He's cebuano but he's based in Makati. Though try lang basin diay makahatag siya ug info nimo where to get this type of beetle.

hello bai G! thank you very much for the heads up bai! I really appreciate it. I've been looking around for about a week now but no luck. We even went to family park thinking we would have a chance encounter with them bugs. But to no avail I could not even find the local scarabs.

Nahilig d.i ka aning tarantulas?! that is quite interesting. what about scorpions? no plans? i was thinking of collecting scorpions but i thought id start with something that doesn't sting. hehehe. yeah i got interested with beetles when i bought one of those 4D puzzles being sold at toy kingdom. i just bought one coz i thought it would be good reference for organic modeling. yep i'm planning to model all sorts of beetle and its also good reference for practicing textures and insect motion.
